I had posted on here earlier about the little black Manx kitten I'd found during a hunting  trip over the weekend. I brought him home, treated him for fleas and started him on a good diet. His name is now Skinner (I'm a taxidermist/trapper by trade so I thought it sounded fitting!)
Anyhow, I also have a big, 4-year-old male ferret named Dakota. Dakota had been kept with another ferret for several years until she died of old age. I was curious to see how he would do with the cat, so this morning I finally let them into the same room together. Dakota was definitely the "boss" here, but after a bit of chasing around, they finally got to playing with each other. So fun to watch! Last time Dakota was this active was when I had the other ferret with him. I think he kind of likes the companionship of another animal :)

That is awesome! When I was 19 I brought home a young ferret, she was awesome and her name was Bella. I introduced her to my cat Cleo who was around 3 years old,and after some closely watched introductions, they loved to play together!  Your new black minx kitten is precious!

Not many animals scare me.  Ferrets and horses are 2 that do!

Years ago my brother had a ferret named "Farrah". He let her run free in the house.  One day I was over and discovered that the ferret was under my chair. She came out and started hopping all over the place making this crazy "eek eek" sound. Totally freaked me out.  I was so afraid of it that I literally climbed onto the kitchen table and was standing there shaking, crying and screaming in complete hysterics. I wouldn't get down until he caught it and put it into a cage in the basement. It took me nearly an hour to stop crying and shaking.

If I had to pick between a snake and a ferret, I'd go with the snake, and I'm not very fond of those either!

Cute! When our last cat was a kitten, he was introduced to our neighbors' ferret, "Jacqui Chan". Those two used to have so much fun playing together.

I've had ferrets most of my life, but Skinner is my first cat. I'd never even really thought of adopting a cat, though this little guy definitely adopted me when some friends and I found him in the woods during our hunt! Dakota the ferret had been a rescue, also. I just have never felt the need to buy pets from breeders and pet shops when there are so many out there who really need our help!

Not funny your so scared of them, they really are funny, smart, loving animals but I guess if you have that fear u can't see that.

They are so funny when they do that hopping, grunting thing though! they make there bodies into slinky like and hop on all floors, what u described sounds like she was excited and playful.

Glad it worked out that they get along with each other
