I believe she is 6 weeks old but she is tiny. She eats moist dry cat food. She is pooping normal. I've had only one kitten in my life and I had her for 19 years and she was an indoor outdoor cat. I had her from when I was in the 7th grade till I was the mother of 3 children and 34 years old. Annabelle is just like my cat that I had for all that time. She is also the one no one wanted. But I wanted her. I've readd some posts on things to use to clean her eyes like black tea and about some other home remedies for kittens eyes but if anyone else has any others home remedies that would be great to share let me know. I can't afford to see the vet with her till sept. So any help would be great right now. I did read about some eye oninment too but its 15.99 at a feed store. Not sure which one. I live in a rual area we have feed stores here. Anyways if anyone can help just with the home remedies that would be great thanks.

The best thing to do is just to use warm water and a cotton pad to clean her eyes. I would not advise to use and tea or human eye ointment as this could be dangerous.

l-lysine is a supplement many people give to kittens to help with watery eyes, URIs or feline herpes. Here is thread that gives the dose for kittens (http://www.thecatsite.com/t/257529/lysine-dose-for-1lb-sick-kitten).

Good luck and keep us posted

Hi, I'm sorry tiny Annabelle has watery eyes just now. I wouldn't use anything other than warm water on cotton pad either.

Also, watch closely and check her little inner eyelids don't start to show, or the watery eyes start to run other than clear or get sticky as these could be signs her eyes are more painful and infected. If that happens I would take her to a vet as soon as you can as it could end up costing you a lot more and give your little kitten a lot more pain and discomfort.

If her eyes are still watering but no change by the end of the month I would still get to her to a vet as soon as you can as they will be able to check what is causing this and make sure she is comfortable.  It is probably a good idea to watch out for any other little things like little sneezes or coughing, runny nose, or if she has any red bits on her gums: this information will help the vet to identify possible causes when you get there.

I hope this clears up quickly and look forward to hearing about tiny Annabelle growing in to little Annabelle.

Well it seems that her eyes have cleared up overnight. I don't know honestly what caused it. But her eyes have been fine today however I do have a new issue now. But its about my other kitten now. Ill post about it. And yes I will keep you up to date about Tiny Annabelle. Today she has showed me that she knows how to use a cat box. She infact thinks its a play box its soooooo funny.

Good to hear she's looking better, and learning more lessons on being a cat:)  When Mouse was little he used to play with all the little he (and no doubt his mum) kicked out of the box . It would get pinged about the room like his toy mice! LOL

Are you talking about her litter box and her playing it it like she is in a sandbox she was so excited about the litter box that she kept playing in the box even after she pooped. My other kitten Tina Cat just looked at her like she was very amused but wouldn't use the litter box so I made her a box of her own then Tina still looked at Tiny Annabelle and then the next day Tina Cat used her cat litter box...very cool!!!

Oh, Mouse would play in the box practicing his digging, then he'd jump out like a rocket and carry on playing with the bits of litter that he'd kicked out on the floor like they were toy mice. He'd just play with anything....

He only had his mum to play with though, no brothers or sisters.   It's natural for kittens to explore everything and learn about it, and for kittens (just like children) play is how they do this.  Enjoy the fun, and don't worry unless she's doing things that hurt her like eating the litter.
