Hi. I am new to the forum. I have 3 cats. All three have birthdays this month.

Hermes is orange and white and has so much personality. He loves to have his butt smacked and will roll around and scream until you do. Such a weird boy. He got his name from the Greek messenger god as he has always got something he needs to tell us.

Pips is black and came to my work in a feral trap at 6 weeks old, completely wild without back paws, he has nubs but no feet. Xrays lead us to believe that he was born that way because of how deformed the bone is. He got his name from the black dots on dice. They are called pips. He was very lucky he came to me as he would not have survived outside but I didn't want to name him lucky and gambling is all about luck so he became Pips.

And then there is Kreature. She is a tortie. She was found by her momma on the side of the road at a week old. She came to me at 2 weeks old when the woman whom had her wasn't feeding her enough and was worried by her decline in health. She got the name because she didn't even look like a cat with her big bulgy eyes and wormy belly. My husband was like "that's some other kind of creature not a cat" lol. So it stuck.

Welcome to TCS, Hermesmom! It was wonderful of you to take in your kitties--and what a beautiful bunch they are!  How does Pip walk around, BTW?

What a great bunch of pussycats!  Yes, like MargeCat, I'm wondering how Pip manages without his feet.. I'm so glad you could give him (and the others) a good home.

Welcome to TCS!

I will have to get a video of him walking sometime. I have one of him as a baby running around but it posts sideways and I don't know why. I can post it anyway if you want to see it and turn your head lol. He just walks on the nubs. Unfortunately there is no padding and so its just bone under the skin. Met with some surgeons and different specialists but they all agree that there is a 40% change surgery would take due to the bone being too short. I don't want to put him through having a metal implant into the bone just to have it not work and have it removed. Sometimes they hurt and he does handstands and he cant jump real well so he goes and gets the hubby by meowing as the hubby follows him to wherever it is Pips wants to go so he will put him up there lol.

Welcome to the site!

What a beautiful bunch of kitties! I once read about a kitty who had deformed back legs. Her mom crocheted leggings to pad and protect her legs so she could get around easier. She actually started a group called leggings for life, and they make special leggings for other animals based on their specific needs. It is all done by volunteers. Maybe a pair of leggings could help Pips, at least give him a little padding to walk on.
