Hi, I just joined this forum as I am concerned about my cat. I bought daisy at 3 months old and the woman I got her from told me she was spayed. I didn't think anything of it since my last cat apollo was a maine coon and came neutered at 3 months old. Only 2 weeks ago when she came in, I noticed she was huge, and kept her in since. I took her to the vet who advised she was due to give birth on the 10th and she couldn't spay as she was too far on. What's done was done and I had a week to get everything together.
Daisy gave birth to 4 kittens on friday the 9th. No complications, everything went as it should have, she went to her nest box at about 11am and had them by 1pm. She is a good enough mum she lets them feed, they all have wee fat bellies but here is the issue-she will be sitting there with them then will suddenly bite one. I am so concerned about it. She is like jekyll and hyde. She licks them, feeds them constantly but bites them? She feeds them then leaves them to sleep and goes and has food, I am feeding her kitten food to make sure she gets enough nutrients, then when she hears a sound she is straight back into her box to see to them.
Should I be concerned or should I take a step back and leave her to it? I feel like an interfering mother in law.
Thanks in advance.
