Hi I'm a long time cat person and for the first time in 37 years of cats I have a baby with a crushed tail. I'm Absolutely devastated, and I can't find him to take him to the vet. Any suggestions? I'd like to have at least a pain killer in his system since the injury is pretty significant. I'm of course leaving him food and water in the room I suspect he's hiding. I'm concerned he's going to go into shock from the pain.

Oh poor baby! Are you sure it's crushed? I would get a flashlight and move furniture to find him and get him to a vet.

I'd start moving furniture and shake the treat bag or food cup.  Look even in places where you don't think he'd be.  Look up down and left to right.  Mine used to hide under the couch which was a very small space.  I never figured how he could make himself small enough to get under there!

Thank you all. We got him and were able to get him treated. Poor baby is all drugged up and bandaged but at least he is out of that pain and we think he won't lose his tail. Thanks for all the ideas. >^..^

Poor little baby, hope you find him immediately. He might look for a place where he's alone and comfortable..

If he has favoured place, look there first but while it sou ssh obvious,o e just never knows. Cats loath change and regardless of personality, when scared or I hired, will seek to hide under what is comfortable to them. Look at every place he goes. He is terrified ,if you explaining. Not coming cor fab treats so that may not work. Do a grid of your home. Get help. Cats know Cubby holes we cannot imagine. Get a huge flashlight a d friends and put water in a. Variety of places. He still might be thirsty.keep looming even doing it quietly. Cats who are terrified will sometimes even run from those they run but if there is infection,it is critical he is found asap. Good luck!

Not sure why the OP's message isn't showing up, but kitty was found and taken to the vet for treatment.
