Cindy is at the animal hospital. We finished her chemo last month and had an ultra sound.  They see changes in the ultra sound and think the cancer may be back.  She's still there, they're doing a biopsy, and the next thing we can do for is a drip chemo.  I'm just so devastated, she's been doing so good, I love that little cat so much.  How much do we put her through?  I wish I knew the answer. She's such a little sweetheart

Misty I am so sorry with what you are going through. I know it is so tough and here are some questions to consider (http://www.thecatsite.com/a/when-is-it-time-making-the-difficult-decision). Thank God my cats are young and so far healthy but my dog is 17 and I am so fearful of having to put her down and how far I will go with vet care. For myself I think like you I will try everything but the fear of making her suffer is one I also worry about.

Sending you some good vibes and hope you don't have to make the decision just yet.

Well, I'm not going to put her down, don't really believe in that, and she's really doing okay for now.  But how much do I keep putting her through, and will it help extend her life, make her feel miserable, not do anything at all?  Oncologist says he is "not giving up" on her and I'm not either, but I was just so hoping she could have a little peace and down time away from all the medical stuff for awhile.

Totally understand I feel the same way about my dog. I just want to make her as comfortable as possible and I do hope she never gets to the point where she is suffering and I need to start asking those questions.

Oh noooooooooooooooooooo. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: I echo Tricia's sentiment, I hope the results aren't as feared. :heart2: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

Definitely ask all these questions of the oncologist. I don't know what chemo vs drip chemo is. :dk: But they have a lot of experience to speak to the questions, and already know Cindy. :heart2:

Thanks to everyone for the vibes, yes I do sincerely believe they help and I'm grateful.  Still no answer though, because it turns out that the area on the colon they saw in the ultrasound is too small or some such to get a sample.  So, we have to take her back Monday and they are going to aspirate, first a lymph node. If they don't get anything from that, they'll try liver and spleen. Our oncologist is great, he's very highly rated, and I trust him.  I was just hoping that she wouldn't have to go through all this again so soon. But I'm not really surprised, based on certain things I've been noticing.  Right now I just feel very drained and sad and trying not to give in because if I start crying I might not stop.

Hi Misty8723 !

A few days ago, I came across something that I thought I'd share with you...it's a publication out of Cornell Vet school.......have a look at the article on page 18:

'SCOPES - Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine
White Shadow, thank you for the article, it is a very inspiring story.  Cindy's journey is not over yet and we are fighters, we'll fight for her for as long as we can.  We just love her so much.

I don't know if she's depressed, she doesn't like going to the vet that much I know. I hope she realizes we are doing it because we love her.
