So Lily's stubbornness has taken a turn for the worse. I used to be able to get her to eat a few types of wet food, she always liked fancy feast grilled turkey with cheddar. And sometimes other brands of turkey. Now, she will not have ANY of it. I've even tried some of the old cans I still had that i fed her as a kitten, like blue buffalo, Merrick, and natural variety just to see if she was just tired of turkey. I've tried the Parmesan cheese idea, I've tried warming it up, I've even took the tough love approach of taking away the dry food for a few hours. She has just stopped eating ALL wet food, and shes driving me nuts. Does it have anything to do with that I switched her from her IAMS kitten hard, to simply Nourish adult grain free hard food? I was just so happy that the switch went well, but now shes even more stubborn. And I take back what I Said about Callie, after watching Callie eat, and trying different varieties, Callie will happily eat almost any type, she doesn't eat all of it but she happily licks almost any type, so Callie is NOT picky, Lily is extremely picky. I'm thinking Lily is just a spoiled little brat, who knows she'll never go hungry, and Callie knows what its like to be hungry because she used to be a feral living in our woods. Is there anything else I can do to get this silly Lily to eat wet again? She JUST turned one, and shes even more picky than ever. And I'm not too worried about her being dehydrated, Lily drinks from either her water bowl, but she prefers tap water straight from the faucet (LOL) Callie hasn't tried that, but she drinks several times a day from her water bowl.

Thanks for your help.(even if at this point my silly Lily is beyond help)

Have you tried mixing a tiny bit in with the dry food? Maybe Callie could eat the rest of the can so that it wouldn't go to waste.  I mean just a TINY bit- barely enough for her to notice at first.  If that works, you can try slowly upping the amount (and again, i do mean slowly).

Slow and steady is always the key with switching/introducing food.

Ugh...cats can be so finicky and it drives nuts!
I know you said you tried to give her some of the old cans you had on hand. Did you try other flavors and textures of Fancy Feast? Or other comparable brands (Friskies, Whiskas, etc.)?

You could try putting a dollop of all meat baby food (make sure it doesn't have any onions or garlic in it!) with the wet food to see if that sparks an interest, or tuna water from a can of tuna (I prefer the cans that are only tuna and water). My Boo loves when I sprinkle Wysong F-Biotic powder supplement on top of his wet food. He goes nuts over it, so I only do it every once in awhile.

Not that I want to be an alarmist here, but what you described about Lily is almost exactly what I encountered recently with my Sebastian. He starting turning his nose up at almost all wet food and being extremely picky. He'd still eat a little dry. Turns out he had nausea from pancreatitis, and I didn't know it until it was a full blown pancreatitis episode and he had to be hospitalized. The smell of wet food exacerbated his nausea. It's like when I don't feel well - I don't want a cheeseburger; I want saltines. I just wanted to say this because a sudden bout of extreme pickiness could be a sign of something else.

One of my cats (Camelot) doesn't like eating wet food on its own - it has to be mixed with the dry food. He loves it that way, especially when it is gently heated in the microwave in the winter season. My other cat (Morgana) likes wet food but only certain flavours - she doesn't like fish as much, but she loves chicken/turkey and beef. She also tried duck, and enjoyed that.

Sometimes overall, I'll add little bits of cooked ground beef or chicken into their meals, or only pouring just a little bit of the sauces from the meats. Camelot enjoys specific fish liquids, and Morgana of course enjoys her chickens and beefs, and on special occasion, lamb. All in moderation of course!

(Cam also really likes ham, but alas, that is more of the forbidden meats)

If you haven't already, it might be just a case of needing to mix things up or trying out more variety of other flavours/ brands. Somes cats will even favour between pate kind or chunks.

If you have, you could try sprinkling some crumbled hard food on the top of the wet like sprinkles. Or, you could always try and go ahead in making your own homemade wet cat food with a blender - I have heard that has worked with other cat owners. It is a bit more effort, but that is us for you, being slaves devoted owners to our beloved creatures. You could always store the extra in the fridge where it can last a couple of days. Apparently, cooked egg, especially scrambled is also good, though this would be of a more individual basis as some cats will like it and others won't. My cats in particular don't like eggs.

And like others mentioned, it is a gradual process, not a sudden change. Take it slow when making new food intro's.

(There is also flavour enhancers, but I don't know about those enough yet)

I have no idea if I helped, but best of luck! :)

Is she eating her full daily requirement of dry if she's not eating the wet? If she is, go back to slowly reintroducing the wet by possibly crushing her dry over it, or other toppers such as fortiflora. You may need to try a different protein too. Cats often tire of the same one.

If she looks like she is not eating even enough of her dry, then I suggest a vet check up. I too am a little concerned about the abruptness of her refusal of ANY wet foods. But I HAVE had that experience with my Babygirl. She'd just up and stop eating what had been her favorite. Can't tell you how much canned food I wasted trying to find the next "just right" one.
I have to say though, since switching to feeding them raw.....no more pickyness!! I love it.

Keep a close eye on her eating, if it looks like she isn't eating enough, or you notice any other changes, have her checked out.
