It seems to be impossible for me to find some type of earbud or headphone to work with my MP3 player while walking.

Earbuds seem to fall out of my ears. Small lightweight headphones seem to work OK, but they get stop working within a month or two and they tend to be much more expensive. I've tried the type that hook over your ears and they don't fit right. Maybe I have weird ears. :lol3:

Does anyone have something they have had luck with and recommend?

I can't even wear ear buds.. thanks to the hearing aids.. but I have a pair of headphones that works well for me, granted, its really old, and by old, I mean over 5 years old (wire's frayed, but still works!!). It's a Pansonic brand.

Yes, I'm with Draco on this one... I find all the others pretty useless.

Only ones I got on with were little Sony ear buds that had really soft, pliable silicone ear pieces and you got a choice of 2 sizes of bud in the packet so better chance you got a good fit for your ear.  They didn't give the best sound in the world and didn't have noise cancellation but they were OK for use in gym, walking, or travelling on buses / trains. Got them about 6 years ago but I think you can still get similar ones on the market - it was the choice of size and pliable silicone covers that made the difference I think: you could get a good fit right in your ear without any discomfort. I used to wear them at the gym and never had a problem with them.  Eventually lost one of the silicone covers that was the right fit for me and haven't looked to see if I can get a replacement one yet.

I have a pair for my Nook that fit really far into the ears. They have amazing bass response. I also use a pair of Maxell standard type headphones. I think they were $6 at Walmart.

When my earbuds to my iPod kicked, I bought a pair of Skull Candy earbuds. I like them....I only use them when I'm on the treadmill or walking outside. They're not uncomfortable and they give me a nice bass.....I like bass.

They're pretty long, meaning that I can stick the buds into my ears, then thread the remaining cord under my shirt, hook it into my iPod and then stick the iPod in my pocket. I like being able to do that; when the cord was outside of my shirt, I was constantly getting it caught in my hands (moving my hands around as I walked), or, on really windy days, the wind would blow the cord around.

I paid around $20 for them at Best Buy.

The old Sony ones I had had this neat thing with the cord - there was a connection and you could have it fairly short to put in a pocket or really long and there was a little winder thing on the cable to take up what ever amount of slack you wanted. I used to be able to wear on the cross trainer or treadmill at the gym and leave the MP3 on the equipment with cable reaching over so pretty long if you want it to be. They were about £25 (don't know what something similar would be now in $, sorry) but they were fairly cheep but good for the money. I like bass too and they were fine - just not fancy.
