So my big baby Midnight, now 13 years old, has been kinda sluggish lately.  His gums have been very pale.  His vet thought maybe he suffering from anemia possibly due to kidney disease and wanted to do a senior blood panel to check his level.  Of course being a worried mom I immediately thought the worst and starting trying to research what I could do in the meantime until I could afford to get the blood work done.  I'm not very good at this type of research and found myself at a loss but managed to read about dry food not necessarily being good for cats in the long run so I was determined to find a wet food and better for him. I have started trying to getting him to eat wet food (tried Natural Choice Chicken and Salmon and Purina Pro Plan Chicken and Beef).  He really doesn’t like the Pro Plan but is starting to eat more of the Natural Choice although I don’t think he likes that either. I’ll keep looking for a match for him.  I’m not sure if the wet food has anything to do with it or if I am just imagining it but I noticed yesterday his gums were a nice healthy looking pink. To make a long story short (I know too late) I was finally able to get his blood work done.  His vet called today and said all his blood work is 100% normal and currently no signs of kidney disease.
Strange but awesome, if I hadn’t been so worried about my old man I probably never would have stumbled upon this site. I hope you all don’t mind I just wanted to share the news about my baby’s blood work.  Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.

That is great that his blood work is normal. I'm sure you must be so relieved that there's nothing wrong. It's also terrific that you're looking for better food for him. Dry food can be hard on the kidneys. It's never too late for a better diet!

Have you tried crushing his favorite kibble and sprinkling it on top of the wet food? That sometimes works well for kibble addicts.
