Are you trying to tempt me? LOL She looks very much my little Scarlett - even the white touches above her eyes. I think I have actually seen this little girl - there is an adoption center at a mall down the street where I work and I pop in there from time to time.
LOL! NOOooooo
...I was tempted to request transportation to bring her here to me! she looks like such a doll! i think I will look later in my area first though.

I called the lady who is fostering him. She sounds really nice. She also has some pure bred Himylaians (sp) up for adoption as well. She couldn't talk too long, because someone was coming over to check those cats out, however she did tell me she would call tomorrow.

I told her all about Simba, and that seemed to be a plus for me. I also told her about my 18 year old Siamese, Snoopy, and that also seemed to be a plus for me. So, we'll see. They want alot of money for the adoption, $250. However, that's not even close to what I paid for Simba.

I know it's a good price. Simba was 4 times more expensive. Bengals are expensive cats. I feel a little guilty, because I spent all that money on a cat, knowing there are cats out there who need homes so desperately. At least if I can get this little guy, I can kind of make up for it. Although, I'm not sorry I got Simba. He's such a wonderful boy. I'm just sorry I couldn't help a cat who needed help. Maybe this way I can. However, I know that I'd probably be of more help, if I just got a regular cat, instead of a purebred.

They probably want that much money, because he's still basically a kitten, 5 months old, and because Bengals are really really expensive, and he's a purebred. They won't have any trouble getting $250 for him. Someone would go to a breeder or a pet store and spend around $800 or more for a kitty just like him. I spent a lot more for Simba.

I was very lucky, when I adopted Khepera, who is a purebred Aby, he was only $50 from the Humane Society. Aby kittens go for $400-$1000.

I would love to get an Aby, as well. Problem is, here in Los Angeles on Petfinders they only have Aby/Mixes.

Yes, a local no kill shelter turned me down. The Aby rescue knows how many cats I have and has emailed me several times about cats in my area who need homes. Unfortunately, those kitties needed to be "only" cats, so that wouldn't work for me.

Hedi, one thing I have going for me is that I know the local shelter manager, and have had him to my home to see that I am not a collector, that my cats live well (better than some humans, probably!) and are all healthy and happy. He makes for a very good, credible reference!

Thanks Sue . I have know Lady from the local Animal Control , she was the one taking care of all my animals when we were in Mass. this year on vacation . The Animal Control and the local Shelter share the building with each other , so I think from there it would be no problem at all .

i was reading this NONSENSE!! about black cats, are people that far over the edge? a black cat is a color, just like people, different colors.... cats are far from evil, not that is more than i can say for some humans, sorry to rant, but that just pisses me off when people cut down black cats, really cats in general, i had a girl at work go on and on about how cats will suffucate a baby, i ask her had she known of any cases, she got quite then, geeeezzzzz

Hope-

Ben is adorable, She has himmi's as well?
$250 is a really good price for a cat. Then lil Simba will have his very own friend.

Sue-

I may have missed it but when will you know if you are getting Samhain or not?

Well, it looks like we are holding at 16 cats for now. We've received assurance from the SPCA that nothing is going to happen to this gal, she is a special one. It seems that when she came to the shelter, she was literally in the middle of giving birth! There are a few cats there that have really touched the hearts of the staff, and she is one of them. Even if she never gets adopted, she will always have a home there.

They had lots more adoptions than surrenders this past weekend, and the "cat count" is at a safe and stable level. Thank goodness!
