Yup. Midnight is a short hair, Romeo a medium hair. Both are solid black, although Midnight is starting to get a sprinkling of white in his muzzle...

That's sad about the older couple wanting to donate a cat. I imagine they had no clue how bad the overcrowding problem is at the shelter and how many strays/ferals there are. Some people remain blissfully unaware of these things. I don't know what their reasons for giving up their cat were, but I don't think they're evil people. Just uneducated. Hopefully they took their cat home with them.

However, NoName is precious! I've never had a black cat - in fact, I'm the inverse. Always had tuxedos and calicos

The older couple was getting ready to move to a senior citizen apartment/assisted living place. They have a no pets policy, which is very sad, because sometimes a pet is all an older person has.
There is no call for making them part with their best, possibly only, friend under those curcumstances.

Congratulations Mom of now almost 17 cats! LOL

She is beautiful!!! I have 2 black cats (Muddy and Koko), and my foster Billie. Hey - Billie will be looking for a home right after Halloween! She is a silky black short hair with a little white dot under her chin down towards her breast.

I lost an outdoor black cat 3 days before Halloween. She was a very friendly feral, and I have kicked myself for years for not putting her inside a week before. I can't bring myself to think what happened to her.

Are you trying to tempt me? LOL She looks very much my little Scarlett - even the white touches above her eyes. I think I have actually seen this little girl - there is an adoption center at a mall down the street where I work and I pop in there from time to time.

That is awful
They should let seniors have pets. Pets are a great way for seniors to detress and enjoy life.

I hope that couple calls around to find a place that allows pets! Keeping the cat would be healthier for everyone involved!

Congrats on the little one if you take her!

Wow, I noticed on Petfinders, that they have a purebred Bengal, about the same age as Simba who will be ready for adoption in 2 weeks. That's here in the Los Angeles area. I'm tempted, but I'd better not do it.

I saw "No Name" and I fell in love. I think that because of the way her picture was taken with her back up like they portray for Halloween then Samhain would be a purrrrrrrrfect name for her!

She actually was arching her back and rubbing her face and purring when we took the pic, but it is a classic "Halloween Cat" pose!

Some of the cats are hams, and pose instinctively for us. Others have to be coaxed with treats and toys to look up at the camera! It took us about 9 shots to get ONE pic of Nala (on Petfinder currently), but it is a good one!
Nala kept wanting to look down at the floor or over at her brother Simba.
