Hi, I'm new to the forum. I've been a cat lady since birth and I'm happy to have stumbled across the site. Everyone seems so positive and friendly. I currently have two cats and two Australian Cattle Dogs. My household is in a transitional stage when it comes to animal relationships. My dear cat Milo passed away about a month ago from a blocked urethra. His death was sudden, and devastatingly unexpected. He was a healthy, vibrant four year old and we miss him greatly.
A bit over a week after Milo's passing, my husband found a kitten while on a dog walk in the woods. I took it to the vet the next day and he is as healthy as a 8-9 week old kitten could be...minus the fleas but they were taken care of.
So now we're dealing with acclimating the kitten to Missy, who is 8 years old and used to Milo. It's an adventure, but they seem to be coexisting pretty well so far. I'm also trying to become a better cat caretaker so that what happened to Milo doesn't reoccur.
Mike and Missy
My handsome Milo.
