Hi, I'm new to the forum. I've been a cat lady since birth and I'm happy to have stumbled across the site. Everyone seems so positive and friendly. I currently have two cats and two Australian Cattle Dogs. My household is in a transitional stage when it comes to animal relationships. My dear cat Milo passed away about a month ago from a blocked urethra. His death was sudden, and devastatingly unexpected. He was a healthy, vibrant four year old and we miss him greatly.

A bit over a week after Milo's passing, my husband found a kitten while on a dog walk in the woods. I took it to the vet the next day and he is as healthy as a 8-9 week old kitten could be...minus the fleas but they were taken care of.

So now we're dealing with acclimating the kitten to Missy, who is 8 years old and used to Milo. It's an adventure, but they seem to be coexisting pretty well so far. I'm also trying to become a better cat caretaker so that what happened to Milo doesn't reoccur.

Mike and Missy

My handsome Milo.

Hi and welcome to TCS. Mike is adorable and Missy is a champ for putting up with a kitten! I'm so sorry for your loss of Milo. This is a great site for urinary tract disease prevention written by a vet: http://www.catinfo.org/?link=urinarytracthealth

Many of us on here have dealt with urinary issues, so we know your pain.

Hi, welcome to TCS.  Thank you for sharing pictures of your beautiful cats.  I am very sorry to hear about Milo.
He certainly was handsome, with such an expressive face.  Bless you and your DH for taking Mike in, and I hope he is a great comfort to you all in the healing process.

So sorry for the loss of your beloved Milo
I'm sure Missy will get used to little Mike soon, he's a lucky baby to have been found by your husband...
