Morning folks, just an update. Taking Ginny to the vets this morning to be done. She finally stopped feeding the babies a fortnight ago, and the vet said she had to wait a fortnight from last feeding before she could be spayed. The babies are now 16 weeks old and are doing great. It was so hard this morning when feeding the babies, as I couldn't let Ginny have anything to eat. I had to lock her in the porch way while they ate. She is now prowling round and keeps coming to me and looking as if to say, where's my breakfast? She managed to get out of a 1st floor window last week that was only open by 2 inches, she was missing for a couple of hours. She had been mewing for about a week before trying to get out so will be glad when she has been done. We shall then be getting the 2 female babies done later this month. Then will be doing the boys afterwards. Will try and get some recent photos of them all over the weekend so you can see how much they have grown.

Yay I'm SO glad to hear she is going in for her spay!

I don't remember what your plans were for the kittens. Are you guys keeping all of them? Or, do you have homes lined up?

Regardless, I'm thrilled they developed so well and are all on the docket to get fixed. They are at an age where they can start coming into sexual maturity so it's just the right time to be getting it all done!

Vibes that Ginny's surgery goes well and without complications and that she finally gets to eat the breakfast she so longs for!

Well Ginny's back home, everything went well, just trying to make sure she doesn't lick the area too much. She's got a "collar of shame" to wear if she does.

So glad to hear it all went well! Yes, the cone of shame sucks and hopefully she won't need it!

Well last night was fun, they told me at the vets that she only needed to wear the cone when there wasn't anyone around to keep an eye on her i,e at night or if we went out, well I battled for 20 mins last night to get it on Ginny, and then she totally freaked out, trying all sorts of things to get it off, in the end I took it off as I didn't want her stressing and doing herself damage, she was so loving when I took it off and wouldn't leave me alone. This morning she was so hungry she wolfed down her breakfast and I was able to check out her wound and it was fine, no sign of over licking or irritation. So back to the vets Monday for a check up, but they didn't think there would be any problems.

Yeah that's a common reaction to the cone. At least it sounds like she isn't licking or otherwise messing with her incision. Just keep a super close eye on her!

It's our turn for  the OP on Thursday.  The vet said he'd put an 'Elizabethan' collar on the cat, so I've got visions of elaborate ruffles!  I expect it'll be a cone.  Keeping my fingers crossed all goes well.  Still got one baby at home, my peaches & cream extra fluffy Ferdy, 10 weeks old now.

Well good luck, Ginny has been running and jumping around like mad since Sunday, you wouldn't think she'd had surgery on Friday.
