Hi everyone,

Both of our cats are showing some appetite changes lately. We actually had them on different diets, because Karou was always a slower eater than Lola, and if we gave them the same food, Lola ended up eating a good portion of Rou's food. For several months it was working well to give Rou rehydrated freeze-dried raw (Primal, rotating through the flavors), while Lola was on a rotation diet of grain-free wet foods (Nature's Variety Instinct, Life's Abundance Instinctive Choice, and Nature's Logic).

Now, both of them are much slower to eat, Lola's decided the raw isn't so bad after all, and Lola is again ending up with way more food than Rou, since she'll go back and graze. Rou no longer gets excited about her raw food or about canned foods, and only seems enthusiastic if we give her kibble (sigh); previously we were giving kibble just as an occasional treat in very small amounts. Lola seems slightly overweight, and Rou seems slightly under weight.

Some additional info that might help:

- They're both coming out of their kitten stage, so it makes sense that their metabolisms might be slowing down (Lola is one year old this month, and Rou is 11 months).

- Both are indoor-only, so they aren't getting food anywhere else.

- Maybe the weather is a factor? We air condition our house, but the cats spend a lot of time in the windows, and we live in the Houston area, so it's HOT out there.

Anyone have any tips on evening out food distribution when both are grazing and one is ending up with the lion's share? Any input is appreciated!

You may have to feed Lola in a separate closed room. That way Rou can eat all of his without Lola getting it.
