I totally did this out of order, but now I'll say hello!
My name's Arella. I'm a new kitty mom (although I spent my entire life around cats, I never got to have one of my own once I reached adulthood/marriage). So expect to see me around asking questions a lot while I adjust to all of this!
My little girl is Delilah. She's nine months old, and my husband found her in a field beside work with bad ear mites and some food scattered on the ground around her. She's a beautiful little thing, VERY full of energy, loving, and seems to adore water and sharing bathtub with me. She adopted me and my husband immediately, and didn't give us much choice but to fall head over heels in love with her. She has the most beautiful deep orange eyes with a center of hunter green, and very unique markings and a stripey tail. She's also what I like to call a "quiet chatterbox", talking to me all the time, but only in very soft, tiny meows.
She's already very trusting, rolling on her back and exposing her tummy to me for scritches and love, and bringing me "presents" of dead bugs, her new toys, and anything else she can find in the morning. I'm also in a wheelchair from a form of muscular dystrophy and she's adjusting to seeing me use this strange contraption to move around, but I think it ultimately led her to believe I'm completely worthless as a hunter and a cat in general, and wants to help out.
We have a lot of work to do together. She was clearly abused by the people that had her last, and has traumatic reactions to certain things, so we're going to be working through that one step at a time. Either way, she's my little cupcake.
And I'm very glad to be here!
