Ok so my little kitten has come round and gotten used to us, he's bouncing around like there's no tomorrow and getting up to all kinds of mischief now. I took him to the vets for a checkup and he was diagnosed with mild conjunctivitis and ear mites. The vet said his mites could be because the last dose of over the counter stuff didn't work. I thought he was just going to prescribe another dose of similar stuff but he's got ear drops that need to be administered once a day for 30 days. We're on day 3 and it's driving me mental! He absolutely HATES the ear drops with a vengeance! His eye drops go in fine and he's happy as larry about that but when it comes to the ear drops he turns into a wriggling whirlwind of claws! We've tried towels, we've tried pillow case and towel, we've tried sitting nicely and reassuring him but nothing works! The drops are really goopy and we have to try to do 5 in each ear every day. Does anyone have any sort of advice that would help us? Also he doesn't like any type of treats so I can't even bribe him >.

you've probably tried it but the fastest and easiest way to do it is if one of you scruffs him by the neck and grabs his back feet while the other one administers the drops

Thanks both :) my partner tried holding him by the scruff and he squirmed around so much it just seemed to be distressing him! We got a couple of drops in his ears but not enough for the full dose. He certainly knows how to make us feel bad >.
