My cat was diagnosed with Pseudomonas and is being put on Zenequin as this was all the bacteria appears not resistant to.

I have read about Zenequin stimulating the CNS and causing seizures but that it is usually at high doses.

It appears that my cat will be on 12.5mg once daily for one or two months.

Anyone have an experience with this drug?

Just a suggestion for you: do an advanced search - the button is in the right top area of every page/screen. I just did one, parameters set for past 12 months.....there are a number of threads there. You could then send messages to people whom you might want to join your thread. It is mid-summer, so while many people won't be browsing, they do check email.

I'm not sure this will work for you, but here is the page I just drew up:

If there's anything you're curious about that's not tied to personal experience, post back with ????s

Hope that helps!

Hannah was given Zenequin when she had a pseudomonas infection.  She did 2 rounds of it, 30 days each.  She had absolutely no problems with it.  IIRC, the doctor did say that we should work up to the full dose.  I can't remember what the dose was, but we did half the dose in the AM and half in the PM for about 3 days, then went to one full dose daily.

Let me know if you have any other questions.  You can always PM me, if you'd like.
