New neighbour moved in. Their indoor cat got out and ran up a tree, maybe 30-40 feet high. Tonight will be the third night. How long will they stay there before coming down to eat and drink?

Someone really needs to go up and get the cat. At this point it's most likely the cat will lose consciousness before it falls down and that will be how it comes out of the tree.  Also, it is definitely nearing the time it can no longer survive without water if it hasn't already reached it. Please call the fire department or someone else who can help.

I would call the fire department like tulosai says. If they can't help; they may know who can.  I would do this sooner; rather than later.  Perhaps you can call on behalf of the neighbors if need be?

2 neighborhood guys got the cat down this afternoon. I would think if the cat was hungry enough or thirsty he would try to come down by himself.

I'm glad to hear he is down!  Sometimes they do really get stuck there and don't know how or can't get themselves down.  Hopefully no more tree climbing for him!!
