Sorry for your loss.  I lost a cat a year ago to renal disease and seeing your picture of borka made me tear up.

Thank everyone ... I'll never forget the suffering of the last 30 minutes of his life ... when we came to the vet he said hes not going to last very long he said even he will do his best the bad things will return back before yesterday...before yesterday he was treated and I thought it would help him for a few days so we went home when the morning came i heard a strong fall i see my cat on the floor barely breathing I ran straight to the vet at 10 am he treated him and we stayed up with him for the whole day the vet gave him the last honor he gave him like 3x infusions, antibiotics and a lot of things to make him feel better..he even made him a small bed to make him to feel comfortable he suggested me to euthanasia him because he was suffering because of kidneys failing..i said no i can't do it i said please continue to treat him he needs to live..so after passing a few hours his kidneys stopped to work..his pee, blood started to came from his stomach all the bad things the vet asked me "do you see now"?i said do it..i went back to the room i almost passed out i couldn't belive it was all over...that was borka's last 30 minutes of his life..i tried to do the best and i hope he will understand me and feel much better up there..i don't want to wish anyone the feeling when you grew up your favorite animal for about 13 years and then you have to bury him....he was like a son to me... i can't even sleep anymore every corner i look inside my house i see my borka sitting on that spot..i couldn't sleep i keep dreaming everytime about him...

I'm so sorry for your loss. My kitty died over a week ago and I still can't enter the bathroom where her kitty toilet still is. Try to surround yourself with good friends and take a walk outside the house when it gets too overwhelming. What I can tell you for certain is that the pain will get more tolerable and you will eventually remember the good times over the bad ones. It's already happening for me, and even though that makes me feel guilty, I know my baby is not in pain anymore and she knew how much I loved her.

You did what you thought was best and you gave him a good life and loved him very much, he knew that--that's what counts. My heart is with you and your Borka boy. I'm crying as I type this but I've had a couple of good times and soon you will too (wouldn't that make him happy?)

Also, my friends who've lost their kitties as well, tell me that things will get better and I believe them.

I am so sad for you :(  Your Borka looks like a gorgeous and very relaxed cat.  I lost my previous cat nearly 3 years ago now but still remember everything you are describing and I feel for you - like others I am crying as I type. I still think I see her in the shadows sometimes, and call her name by accident then feel bad as I love my current boy just as much. I too held on to my little cat until she was really really frail and question my self over whether I did the right thing- remember you did what you do from love, and you stayed with him which is so, so hard. It does get easier but he will always have his place in your heart and your memory and that will bring you both happiness when you're ready.

People have their own beliefs. What ever yours are, if you want a tattoo in loving memory is it not love rather than illness that you are preserving?
Maybe your mum just wants you to take time to think about it and not rush in.

First, I'm so sorry for your loss.  Such a handsome boy, and obviously well loved.  My heart goes out to you.

As for the tattoo, I think this is a lovely gesture.  I think you mom is just being cautious and trying to protect you but honestly, you must know what she says isn't true. It is just ink on skin and when done right, should cause no ill effect at all; just make sure you go to a reputable artist. If it feels like the right thing for you to do and if you are of age to make that decision now, it would be a fitting tribute for his memory.

I am so sorry for your loss.   He was a gorgeous cat and I thank you for sharing him with us.     I think  a lot of us can relate.

I think if you wanted to get a tattoo with his name it would be a nice memorial about a wonderful animal friend.    I can't see how it could be any bad luck .   Lots of people have got a tat for a loved one who died  and  they don't end up getting the same disease  or die the same wa   You would not be getting it for the disease but for the love you had for him.
