Hello I'm here because my older cat "cat" has become quite clingy. He'salways been my buddy lap cat, followed me around but is now more so than before.

Cat info:
About 13 years old
Domestic long hair
Black/white

Now he will follows me around everywhere, and gets "depressed" if I don't pick him up, also when he sees me by the door he'll cry and whine and repeatedly jump into my arms.

Now there are some major changes, I moved in with a friend (5 months ago) whom cat has developed an odd relationship with, my cat will befriend him when I'm not home but will reject and become aggressive toward him when I'm home.

I'm just worried that it's a medical problem. He just had his check up about a year and a half ago with no problems. No change is weight or eating habits, just overly clingy...

Is it a medical problem?
Old cat wanting attention?
Something I'm missing?

At his age, he should be having check ups at least once a year.  A year and a half ago is actually a long time.  My vet recommends twice yearly visits after age 12.  That might be overkill but you should definitely take him in for another checkup.

Most likely the change in behavior is due to the move, though. Give him more time to adjust- at his age, it could take quite a while.
