I recently started feeding my 17 year old dog Fromm's shredded chicken entrees as she is getting pretty picky in her old age. My kitten Ava is obsessed with the stuff and always finishes off whatever Daisy doesn't eat. I contacted Fromm about coming out with a feline version, but I after looking at their food for cats it seems the shredded chicken has the same nutritional profile and they both have the same percentage of taurine though it is higher up on the list in the cat food (http://frommfamily.com/products/four-star/dog/can/shredded-chicken) and (http://frommfamily.com/products/four-star/cat/can/duck-chicken). I am sure my other cat Frank will love it because he loves shredded chicken. I feed the cats usually 3-4 times a day with about 2 oz portions each and I was wondering if I could sometimes give them this as one of their meals? I am not crazy about the potatoes and peas but I have so few options because they will not eat pate type foods so I am always looking for new shredded foods to rotate in because now they only are eating two brands right now- natures variety pride and tiki cat and I think they are getting bored.

Since you seem to be paying a premium for your food already, have you looked into Weruva's chicken varieties?  I know when Casper was ill some months back his appetite went down and the only thing we could tempt him with was shredded chicken.  The Paw Lickin' Chicken was his favorite.

I know they have reformulated their line so perhaps this isn't there any longer but I'm sure there is something similar.  The only reason I don't use it in rotation is you don't get a lot for your money IMHO, too little calories, and high priced since we have 2 cats but, in a pinch when illness strikes for sure I would get it again since it was a hit.

Thanks, yes I do sometimes feed weruva but they like the tiki cat more and since it is similar I usually just go with the tiki cat. They also don't carry it in the the food store I like to go to so that is also why I generally buy the tiki. And yes I spend a small fortune on pet food.

I seem to remember Soulistic is shredded.
I am in Canada and I have never seen this brand though thanks- from my memory I think it is actually manufactured by tikicat or maybe weruva. I also forgot to mention I won't feed food with carrageenan so that also really limits my choices
