I lurked during Molly's last weeks, doing a lot of searches on here trying to figure out what was wrong with her. After she passed and we adopted Abby, I needed a place to ask some questions so I joined. I'm still here. :lol3:

I joined in 2008.  No idea where I got the info, as I wasn't Internet savvy at all.  But the information on here is invaluable and the people are all very kind.  You need that when you're up against some of the things we deal with.

I joined recently, in February of this year.  We had three young healthy cats and things were going along swimmingly and then we took in four older cats, a couple of them ill, when a friend passed away suddenly.  I was in a panic, overnight having 7 cats instead of 3, learning to give meds, not having a clue how to integrate them all.....

I think I did a Google search on "multiple cat households" or something and found this site.  I think I wanted reassurance that having that many cats wasn't just ridiculously insane LOL.  I discovered that many people here have even more than seven!  And it looked there were a lot of knowledgeable, friendly and supportive folks on this site, so I joined.

I found TCS by chance when googling for feral cat support. I was rarely on a computer before TCS but since the day I joined, that changed! :lol3: I was not a lurker, I just plunged right in and had no idea what was to become of it, how great it would be to belong to a cat loving community!! :D TCS has become ingrained into my daily life for so many wonderful reasons. :hi:

I found TCS when I was searching for information on a digestive issue that my newly adopted cat had. I joined to post in your forums, and this site has been a Godsend. I have been able to look after Matt SO much better because of the knowledge I have gained from the members of this site, and he's on a healthy diet of wet food now, instead of the free-feeding dry diet that my last cat ate because I didn't know any better.

I had just adopted Simon & Garfunkel - they were about 7 weeks old and I was googling for information, most likely on nutrition though I don't remember exactly what.  I joined that day so I could jump right in!  Love TCS.

I found the site during a search for something cat related.  I am always on the lookout for people as fascinated with felines as I am, so I joined.

After years of Googling various cat health problems and ideas for play I finally found The Cat Site a couple of weeks ago. I'd gone from kittenhood to pensioner years with 2 gorgeous girl tabbies with assorted health issues and then spent 2 years adjusting to life and love with my current daft, accident prone pedigree boy with assorted health issues. I don't know many 'cat people' and bore most of my friends and family horribly with tales of my furry friends, and their advice has been limited. My furboy had just been diagnosed with probable FHV1
and prescribed anti-viral medication.   I looked up FIV and use of Famciclovir in cats and hey presto - the world opened up for me. How I wish I'd found you all years ago. The types of information and attitudes of the people posting immediately felt welcoming and the range of both serious and fun information I found was something I didn't want to loose. It feels amazing to be able to share the joys and worries of life with cats with cat loving people, and even better - with a such variety of knowledge and experience. This site is precious.

I have a feral cat that I took in after he was injured (he's pretty much domesticated by now) and I was in the process of educating myself on how to do it all. He also turned out to have food allergies, which can be very challenging… another area in which I have been working to educate myself. So, I joined this site for the wealth of information, support, tips and encouragement. You can listen to "the experts"—vets, pet food companies, Jackson Galaxy (lol)—but there really is no substitute for the practical help and advice of fellow cat people.
P.S. The feral & strays section on this site is especially wonderful.

I had just adopted Boots and Kramer, and was trying to figure out whether or not Kramer was going to kill tiny Boots. :lol3:

Of course, they grew up to be best friends.

It's been so long since I joined TCS that I'm not quite sure why I actually joined. I think it was when Winchester was "diagnosed" with FIP and I was in search of some answers. If I recall correctly, I had actually signed up for an account before then, but I think I actually first posted when I found out about Winchester's condition and was desperate for some insight regarding the whole FIP thing.

Wow... So many names that I no longer know.... That's what happens when you don't visit a lot, I HAVE to work on that, lol! I joined in July, 2003... Now I don't remember how I got here, probably just lurking around for cat things and stories, lol!

I joined because I was specifically looking for a cat forum. At that time, I was interested in training, but I also was just looking for a forum in general. I checked out a different one first, but the tone really turned me off -- there were a lot of rules, and the moderators seemed kind of rude/angry about them. I don't mind rules, but the place just wasn't very welcoming. I'm very glad to be here!
