Good morning, friends!

Today's question is a two-parter, if you'd like to share, about the view outside from your home.

1) Do you have a preferred window / door that you like to see the view?

2) If you had a choice for it to be anything, what view would you like to see?

My favorite view is from our kitchen doors, I look out at the garden a lot (sometimes there are weird animals that wandered over here from the park or the ocean). I can also see the Washington state mountains for when I get homesick for the U.S. But by far my favorite view is the ocean, I like mountains too, but the ocean has whales, sea lions, storms, boats, tides, and all kinds of interesting things to watch.

My favorite view is a mountain view but I also love to sit and stare at the waves.  Both are very relaxing.  Our house was designed so the kitchen/dining areas and living room all look out to the back yard.  It was a big selling point for the house!  Right now with it being so hot I've kept the blinds and curtains closed to keep out the heat; but normally I open all of them so I can see wherever I am.  Let me see if I can dig up a few pictures!

These were taken from my in-laws back deck when we visited last year.  Before I had kids along with me; I'd sit on their porch swing with their dogs and read.  I loved it!

(I just took a picture of my backyard; I'll try to add that later!)

I have a sliding glass door that over looks the next apartment and a small window by the front door with blinds. And also have 1 window in our bedroom that over looks the  same apartment building. So it's 3 in all. If I had a beautiful view to look at it would be an ocean.

Do we have a view?  Hold on I gotta go look-- only been here 10 years- lol.

No really, we can see the foothills to the west from pic window, bedroom balcony, and patio.  Can see Pikes Peak (80 mi  to the south) from upstairs bedrooms.

I guess I'd enjoy an ocean view from a beach house somewhere. Don't think that will ever happen.

It is so hard to say, Augusta is such a beautiful place. I was in the hospital for 10 days, and the view was spectacular. There is a huge Catholic Church with those pink blooming trees, not dogwood, but I can't think of the  name of them. It has lovely brickwork, Hammered metal turrets, and stained glass, most of it original. There is a carving of The Sacred Heart Of Jesus over the door. They feed the homeless breakfast, and they share with the 5-6 homeless cats, mostly white. It is a beautiful sight.

I love the view from my back porch. I am living on three acres of land that is part of a farm that has been passed down in my family from my great grandfather. We are surrounded on three sides by the farmland and crops. I love sitting on the porch and remembering growing up here in my grandparents home. I remember my grandfather getting in the field at daylight behind the mule to plow the blackest dirt ever. Now I sit and watch the air conditioned tractors that get in the field about ten o'clock in the morning. My grandfather would not understand how they farm now. I love the view and the memories.

Until last year in February, I was facing the river and downtown. I had a beautiful view!  Now I face the front of the building and the view is of a community club and a busy street with a train in the distance. Not so pretty anymore.

1)  The view of my flowering gum and birdbath, especially when the gum is actually flowering, and/or when it is covered in the colourful parrots that love to visit.

At certain times the birds will all flock to the birdbath and I love watching how the different breeds all use it.. the Currowongs dive in and empty the water and I have to go and fill it... the parrots play and splash like kids.. the peewees are woosies who wander round the edge for ages and then dive in for about a second.. and the doves will just sit in it, two together

2)  The vast expanse of ocean up on the Sunshine Coast.  Sitting on the beach and watching the waves somewhere pretty wild and deserted is the ultimate for me .

Out of our game room window. We live in the Salt Lake Valley in Utah and we are up higher in the foothills of the Oquirrh Mountains range so we can see the whole valley and at night it looks like stars twinkling everywhere, plus the Wasatch Mountains are on the opposite side of the valley from us and look amazing at dusk.

During holidays that people like to shoot off fireworks it is really cool because we can see them all over at once. Today is Pioneer Day in Utah so there are lots of fireworks going off in the valley. Tomorrow it will be hazy though. . .

I'd love to be able to look out at the northern lights again or the Milky Way so I'd need to be in place with low light pollution.

Great pictures, Mooch! I like your view.

Our view to the south of us outside of our living room window is my favorite. I could sit there for hours. We live in the country, so we have rolling mountains and valleys everywhere. It's really pretty, no matter what season we have.

We live on a hill with just the hilltop behind us. So far, nobody has built a house behind our property. And we have large blue spruce trees all along the rear property line, so we'd be hard-pressed to see a house there now anyway. But I like to sit out on the deck with Mollipop on the swing. We watch the animals in the back yard and all the fireflies. The really neat thing is when it gets dark and the stars come out. I'll take a sleeping bag and go up to the back yard, sprawl out and look at the stars.

I'm really hoping for nice weather in mid-August for the Perseid meteor shower. When the weather is nice, we'll sit out for hours during the evening just to watch all the shooting stars.

I love to look at the ocean. The last time we were at Myrtle Beach, SC, we had a room right on the beach. Rick would leave for his classes and I'd have the days to myself. I'd lounge in bed until 8:00 or so, then get up and enjoy my coffee out on the balcony right at the time the dolphins would swim down through. It was beautiful and they are such gorgeous animals. But even just sitting out and watching the waves was so relaxing and I could spend hours sitting there. At night we kept the balcony doors open and fell asleep listening to the waves.

Probably looking out the bay window in my living room. It looks out into my backyard and we have bird feeders right outside the window. If I could choose it would be a tough choice between the mountains or the ocean.

Since I live in a garden apartment building, I have 3 windows. Two faces the same direction, one faces the apartment next to me.

The main windows, I am lucky to have the view of my courtyard with trees and birds and the stray/feral that lives in the area. Sometimes I wish I could see the front to the parking lot so I can check on my car or watch for visitors. If I want to, I'd have to step outside my apartment into the hall to view out the front window.

The best view is from the balcony door in the study, of some hills/forest to the southwest. If I had a choice, I'd take mountains with a lake or river in the foreground.

Mooch! Beautiful views! :thud:

I love the view from the living room windows - our little forest. Or the view from the all purpose room - the bird watching patio surrounded by the little forest as well.

If I had a choice it would be a view of Mt. Rainier in Washington. I love the mountains especially the snow capped mountains. So beautiful and magical to me.
