hi.Iv just recently adopted a 4month old kitten from the shelter.it took 24 hours for  my 6 month old to except him and now she even grooms him,Is this nomal? however when I got back from work this morning ,his eyes look weird, they are dilated ,half closed and the white inner covering is visible. His poop has been runny  and stinky but has now turned from yellow to green.has from the time I brought him home a kind of seepage from both eyes.He was playing, eating and drinking water. However this morning he just seems worse. He has been dewormed.

I am taking him to the vet just waiting for them to open.

Could this just be the stress of a new environment or is it something more serious.Am I just being overly concerned, hes just been with me

for a week.I feed,fresh,raw,dry and canned.

Im also concerned for my older baby, there seems to be  something wrong with her one eye, cannot open it fully and this little white collection at the corner.Iv cleaned both their eyes with seperate wipes.

Iv read a few of the threads that had similar questions

please any advice or suggestions  would be appreciated.

thanx

Hi Cloeg, your vet will tell you what is what.  It is unfortunately very very common for new additions to bring in bugs, even from the most reputable and beautiful conditions.  We are just coming through this with our newbie - she gave cat flu to our big boy (which recurred), and also a tummy bug that has not been able to be diagnosed.  Thankfully big boy (2.5yrs) had a more developed constitution, so he got over the tummy bug quicker - my little girl has been sick for 2 months.  I now know why there is a 21day exclusion period for new kittens on cat insurance (it's so they don't have to pay out!!)

The good news is, that your guys have bonded so quickly!  Mine took 3 days, and love each other to bits - cuddle, wash, including bum licking (no wonder the bugs spread)  Even though the illness was hard work, I have always thought that I'd prefer that problem to a relationship problem between the two.  And, yes, it is normal for some cats, especially young kittens, to get along very quickly.

So keep your close eyes on your little ones, and you are absolutely right to get them both straight into the vet.

Best wishes!

hi, my girl chloe is doing just fine,She seemed to have a problem opening her left eye,Vet said nothing to worry about.

suggestion was to wipe her eye with cooled rooibos tea, natural remedy, and after  a few wipes, her eyes are back to nomal.

Cole wants to be anywhere I am,I suppose he needs comfort because he's feeling a little off ,and Chloe feels the need to

constantly groom him,he hasnt been grooming himself, today.

Im sure they are going to be just fine but im going to stay home for a few days just to make sure.

thank you for reply.enjoy
