Hello!

Just wondering do your cats get along with your dog?

Because we just got a kitten and I'm very nervous about her getting along with our two dogs!

Anyway,

 Welcome! :)

Yes the cats and dog r like best friends it's funny cuz the cat knows when there's something wrong with him and its also vise versa they try to take care of each other. It did take a little bit tho for them to get along

Have it dogs ever been around cats before? Our dog is also pretty small. And also been around cats his whole life. I'm sure it will work u just gotta let the dogs know not to hurt the new baby. Our problem was the cats trying to hurt the dog when we first got him.

Our dogs have been around cats, and they never have chased, they just want to smell and play. They have never lived with one before though. They are pretty gentile. They are golden retrievers, so they tend to also listen to us pretty well. They are bigger dogs though. (One is 75 pound the other is 105 pounds)!

The cats eyes usually get very big and she tries to run and she does look scared, but maybe a little curious too. She wants to come out of her safe room pretty badly, but we want to take things really slow. We have the door closed and a gate about 5 feet down the hall in front of the door.

She growls, and hisses a little bit, but we expect that. and after a while she seems to still be scared but she does calm down.

The closest they have seen each other is from about 5-6 feet away.

Aww. I love golden retrievers my son wants 1 really bad. I would say let the kitty b in the room
With them a little at a time I'm
Sure u will see the kitty get all fuzed up and barking and hissing it will take time and they gotta try to figure out who is boss. We had a huge lab a couple years ago. He passed away from old age but he was awesome with the cats and our other dogs he looked out for them but it took time. The poor doggies my get clawed at first but they will become friends. We have never kept the cats away from tm

Yeah that is true! If they are going to get mad and fight I guess they might as well get it out of their system, but i really hope to go slow enough that that doesn't happen
