My little Dixie wants me to feed her every single time I go into the kitchen. But I do seem to feed her a lot. She's only my 3rd kitten/cat in 45 years and I don't remember how much I fed the other two.But I don't recall either one having tons of boo-boo in their litter box everyday(sorry TMI)....I feed her like 7-9 times in a 24 hour period.Like in the middle of the night, when I have to get up she's meowing like crazy and then all thru the day when I walk by her dish. How much is too much or does this even matter? I feed her Purina kitten chow with a few sprinkles of water to make it a tad bit soft..but not mushy.

Thank you for any advice in advance

At that age you can still definitely be 'free choice' feeding.  I support people getting their kittens on a 'schedule' as quickly as possible, but at 3 months she is clearly still growing.  Her stomach is very small so it will not hold much at once.  If she is active (and I bet she is) she is gonna need a lot of food, and very frequently, during this time.  It is not always possible to get kittens on a schedule that young.

If I were you I would definitely just go to a situation where I am putting a bunch of food in the bowl at once and refilling as necessary.  If you want her to be on a schedule (which I do very much support) I'd try again at about 5 months.  If you really don't want to do free feeding generally, I'd consider it for nighttime when you are sleeping all the same.

A disadvantage of this is you won't be able to wet the food, but there are mixed opinions on whether wetting dry food is even beneficial in any way to cats anyhow, and it can go awry easily in terms of germ collecting if the food is not eaten essentially immediately.

Yea kittens at this age need to pretty much eat as much as they want. How much are you giving her per feeding? Has she been dewormed? 7 -9 times a day is a lot of feedings. When my 2 were kittens and also when my foster kittens were here, I had them on 4 - 5 feedings of wet a day, but had kitten dry food down 24 hours a day.
