So a stray we took in a few weeks ago had her kittens last Friday and the basement floor is cold so we have a heating pad under the nesting box wrapped in a towel and pillow case. It's working fine but I literally don't sleep at night because I'm worried about it catching on fire!

I finally broke down and ordered one of those snuggle safe disks from amazon and it will be here Wed because I overnighted it. It got really good reviews so I'll be glad to get it in use so I can sleep once more.

Have any of you used it for newborn kittens, how well did it work?

I haven't, sugarsandz.. it may be better to ask the question over in Pregnant Cats and Kitten Care.

But I think it's a great idea...  Bless you for caring about these little guys..

I'm going to move your post to the Pregnant Cat's forum so the folks who frequent there can see it.
No problem, I wasn't sure which one to post it in. Thank you!

Hi!  Hope they are doing well!

I think the Snugglesafe looks great.   maybe not very soft? so you might still want to wrap it up in a towel or fleece and stick it in a pillowcase.  then you could put it right in the nest box.

Hopefully since this got such good reviews it will work well for you ,  and you won't need to worry.

Just an update on the snugglesafe pad. . . It is pretty awesome, it stays heated for the 10 hours as advertised, though it's not near as warm by the end but still warm enough. It also works great for a sore back lol. It heated better than the electric pad I was using and I didn't have to lose sleep over it since it doesn't use electricity!
