i am 16 and i have never owned a cat before. me and my sister found a little stray cat i am not sure how old he is

that is a photo of him. well i have had him for 3 or 4 days now he is eating good and playing. i own ferrets as well and he was in my room why i was sleeping then i here him screaming and my ferret had a hold of his foot thrue the cage i went to go help him and he bit my pinky finger and there are puncture wounds and it is a little swollen i have been keeping it clean but what are the chances of him having rabies? i have been doing some reading about it and it has got me scared but i was wanting to ask someone who might know. like i said he has been playing and eating good he seems healthy i am planing on taking him to the vet for his shots and stuff soon he does like to bite not hard more like play biting and some times bites hard and dosnt stop can any one help me?

He does seem very young. It is very doubtful he has rabies. You would see signs of that. Cat bites can get easily infected however and need antibiotics, so please keep an eye on it.

I agree with VBall91.  Verry improbable he has rabies. Besides, he didnt bite you because he was funny and peculiar, he did this bite when he had a very legitimate reason to be defensive and try to bite back.  Even if the wrong person got this bite.   Nay forget it, and dont mention it to the vet or the doc.  Else you will be forced to keep him in quarantine if you are lucky. PTS  if you are unlucky.

I agree also, punctured cat bites are nothing to play with...   Although when I got deeply bitten, the doctor didnt do much, I got mostly an extra vaccination for  tetanus,  and did swelled and got feverish up because of THAT.     :(

These playing bites is something else and quite natural.  Say clearly Ouch or similiar if it hurts, so he learns when he is doing to too hard.  And dont play too much with your hands...

A very pretty  pointed cat you had get!  Nice!

Good luck!
