I have a seven year old cat that broke his back foot about a year ago. When we took him to the vet they put a cast on his back leg. We had the option of amputating or casting. Our cat already had his front leg amputated from a previous accident, so amputating his back one was not an option for him. The cast stayed on for well over three months because it wasn't healing properly. I also have to add that he is in reneal failure and is on medication for that. His foot healed, but is very deformed. He really can't put a lot of weight on it, but manages to get around. He eats well, and seems to be alright. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me how to tell if he is in pain from his foot. He really is awkward walking. Maybe it is wrong that we didn't put him to sleep?

Thanks so much! He scored really well on those. So hard to know if the decisions you make are the right ones. He has really been through a lot, but still manages to get around. I would never want him to suffer.

I'm glad he scored well!  It's tough when they can't talk to us, but hopefully this chart helped you out
