Hi guys! Just wanted to introduce myself and my little fur ball Kodi (short for Dakota).  Kodi is a rescue kitty my family found all alone in a bean field when she was a baby.  She is almost a year now.  My fiancee an I are new cat parents so we need advice from time to time, like how do we get Kodi to not bite us when she is playing around and when should we switch her to cat food since she is still so small.  We also have curiosities that linger on what her breed(s) might be and how being abandoned at such a young age might have affected her.

She is a beautiful calico of many colors, with ticked fur, green eyes and a white belly and paws.  She has a smaller head with big ears that are usually the first give away to her intentions if her eyes are trying to deceive.  She loves hair ties and will jump and catch them in mid air if you throw them to her (and if she is in a good mood, she'll bring them back to you to throw again!).  She also copies EVERYTHING my fiancee does including how she sits and sleeps.  This has unfortunately led to some early morning photo shoots with me sleeping and my family doing crazy poses around me :/  Kodi also follows us from room to room in the house.  She doesn't cozy up to us unless she is tired, but she will be in whatever room we are or she will wait outside the door until she is allowed to join us (she may have some minor abandonment issues).

We look forward to hearing from you guys in the forums and just wanted to say hi :)

Here is some photos of our fur baby:

Hi and welcome to TCS! Kodi is a beautiful little girl. As for food, you can switch her to adult cat food or all stages food now. She is mostly done growing. She may just be a small cat (mine is tiny too). Hope to see more pictures of her.

Kodi looks alot like my Tinkerbelle, our vet told us that Tink is most likely a brown tabby/calico mix. Tink is also smallish, at 4 years she weights only 5 lbs (barely) and is quite a dainty thing. im always worrying she isnt eating enough! As for the biting, our vet told us with our younger brown tabby Jax (who does the same thing) to first, never use your fingers as toys, and second if he starts to bite us when we are petting him we are to immediately stop, and ignore him. eventually he will learn (still in the process as he is only 18 weeks old) that if he gets mean that he wont get any attention!  Because Kodi is almost a year old you should be very safe to switch her over to a good brand of cat food.. Like most people here will tell you ''Feed the best brand you can afford'' alot of people here ive read feed their kitties wet food instead of dry, there are tons of options i felt very over whelmed when i joined earlier in the month and read what everyone does for food options! We feed our cats a mix of Purina Indoor Formula and Purina Healthy Weight, as both of our cats are indoor and sometimes have issues with hair balls (not sure who the hairball belongs too though XD) so the indoor helps with hairbal control and the healthy weight well, helps them maintain a healthy weight lol. you will always find someone that will be able to give you anwers :) Kodi is absolutely adorable! she is lucky to have found someone so loving to take care of her. My eldist Furbaby Tink was a rescue too, we found her on the side of the road, and she too is very spunky and likes to play with hair ties and anything that prety much isnt nailed down to the floor! she also loves to cuddle and occasionally i'll find her in an awkward position that resembles my husband or daughter lol Must be a CaliTabby trait!! or as my daughter calls her a Tabbico (tabby-co) which has rubbed off on the rest of us to call her that too. this is my tinkerbelle.
