I have been reading your conversations about the metro. Can I ask if you guys know what has caused your cats to become sick? Our one kitty was on it a few weeks ago (the diarrhea started after he had been outside for a while, I assumed eating grass). Now my other kitty, who also goes outside for an hour or two at a time has diarrhea. I still have some metro left and think I will give her some. Unfortunately I do have the liquid version since Nooch, the big boy who was on it first is so bad w/ pills. I'm just not exactly sure about the dosage either. Nooch was getting 2ml twice a day, but he's like 17 lbs. Callie is much smaller at like 9lbs so I suppose I'll give her half. I'm just so confused to what is causing this. My parents have cats that also go outside and they never have problems with diarrhea... :( Poor kitties!

Diarrhea can be caused by so many things when they're allowed outside. It's impossible to know what they're eating out there. Have they been checked for parasites? They might need to be wormed.

Agree that you could be dealing with internal parasites and would ask the same question. Have they been properly dewormed? Take in stool samples for each cat if you can. Metro is an intestinal antibiotic and should not just be used to clear up diarrhea. It will work but will only mask the underlying issue. It is also possible that they are eating something outside that is causing digestive upset. I would not advise giving Callie the metro without checking with the vet first and getting the stool sample done. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:
