This morning I fed my old grumpy large dog. Eden the 5 month old kitten decided when I turned my back for 2 seconds to run up to him and he lunged at her and grabbed her and had her head and upper shoulder in his mouth. He did NOT bite hard, there were no punctures on her anywhere just lots of slober. She screamed, puffed up and ran. When I found her she was holding her right eye shut. Her right eye was covered in slober so I checked and saw the upper outer side of her sclera was beat red. No blood. Called the vet and let them know I was coming in and took her in immediately. The vet looked at her eye, did a stain test and found NO ulcers on the cornea. He said she burst a blood vessel. He prescribed BNPH ointment and told me to apply it twice a day for one week. I notice this evening she is still holding his half shut, does anyone know if this is normal? It looks a bit better then it did this morning. Shes her active normal self except she gave running up to him during dinner a second thought.

Heres a pic of her holding her right eye shut (left in the pic) and of course Sir Old Man Grumps A lot

Here is the red area on her sclera (white part of the eye). I obviously do not hold her head like this but with a squirmy kitten and no one else around to help me I had to hold her like this for a second to grab a pic
