We lost Sheldon yesterday morning after only 4 years of life. He was my first pet (along with his sister) that I have had in my adult life, and loosing him has been extremely hard on my boyfriend and I (although still very fresh, all I do is cry). He had a surgery on Friday to reduce his colon as he had megacolon, but never recovered. He would get better from one thing then something else would come up. The final event was Tuesday night when he started having seizures. He would still purr at us and rub his face on ours, but we knew he was already gone. I woke up at 330am Wednesday morning to hear a horrible cry coming from Sheldon.
I woke up at 650am yesterday morning, said good morning to him and checked on him. I went upstairs for 5 minutes and when I came back he was gone.
We both believe he waited for me to get up to say good bye, which hurts even more because he was probably in pain.
I just wanted to share because speaking about it makes it a little easier for me.
For everyone else who has recently lost their beloved cat, I am so sorry for your loss.

I am very sorry for your loss. It sounds like Sheldon knew how much he was loved and how much he will be missed. RIP little one.

It's doubly cruel when they have to leave us at such a young age. I'm very sorry for your loss. RIP, Sheldon.

Thank you, writing about it makes it a little easier. Though I know I won't get over this for a while, I have 2 other little kitties who still need me
