Tigger, is eating solids.  I took some advice I got and got some baby food chicken and chicken broth as well as turkey and turkey broth and tried him on it, and he lapped it right up.  So he has been eating that for about a week on top of his bottle.  A couple of days ago we started mixing can kitten food in with the baby food and he is eating that as well as his bottle.  Today tried to feed him from his bottle and he ate a little bit from it, but basically, he doesn't want his bottle anymore.  So I tried feeding him baby food and he ate that up.  He is also gaining weight which is good news as I was concerned that he was possibly loosing weight.  So he is doing really good.

Just make sure the baby food you are giving him has no garlic or onion in it.  I think Beechnut is the one most cat owners use. It has no additives, just meat and broth.

I am using Beechnut, and it has no garlic or onion in it, it is just strictly chicken and chicken broth, and turkey and turkey broth.  But now Tigger is eating more cat food than he is baby food because I am weaning him off the baby food.  He is doing really good.  One problem we were also having with him is, he wasn't going to the bathroom on his own, pee or poo, and he was 5 weeks old.  But one day I had his litter box on the ground, it was empty, and he jumped in it, so I took him out, put litter in it, put him back in it and then he starting peeing in the box.  Then a few days after that he started pooping in the box on his own to.  So now we don't have to stimulate him anymore.  But Tigger is a little over 6 weeks now, and he is getting to the point where he doesn't want his formula in or out of a bottle AT ALL!  So I am going with the flow here.

Yes, Tigger has made big progress.  I am so proud of him.  And as of right now, he eats plain old can cat food with no baby food mixed in with it.  I was getting ready to feed him this morning, put the cat food in the dish first, was getting ready to get the baby food so I could mix it in with it and he just went right up to his bowl and ate all of it.  Did it a second time and he ate some, not all, but unfortunately he wanted his bottle.  So I fixed him his bottle.  He isn't quite ready to go off his bottle, but he doesn't use his bottle much at all anymore.  So once again, I am going with the flow here.  Tigger will let me know when he is ready to give up the bottle.  (Sounds like he is an alcoholic).
