Yippee!!!!!!

The jury convicted Andrew Burnett, the 27 year old man who, in a fit of road rage, grabbed a woman's bichon frise and threw him onto the California freeway, after she tapped his bumper! Leo was struck and killed by an oncoming. Burnett was sentenced to 3 years in prison.

His defense was that the dog bit him.

I am so elated that finally animals are getting their day in court! It's about time that the judicial system started looking at our beloved pets as simply more than "animals".

Here is a party in memory of Leo. Anyone care to join me???

May Burnett become an inmate's girlfriend inprison and may be die the same horrible death that Leo did while there.

I saw this yesterday in the paper while having lunch with Craig. We were both pelased that the man was given 3 years for the evil act him committed. In the paper it said.. (not in exact words) "Judge doesn't believe man was sorry for throwing the puppy into oncoming traffic."

Yay! Dunno what the judges name was... but I'm very happy that he is able to acknowledge that animals are of importance to this world and deserve every right to live as humans! Kudos to him!

I am very pleased to hear this. I had wondered what was going to happen to him. I dont understand how he could do such a horrible thing. I am sure some of the inmates will let him know just how cruel he was.

of the words cruel and unjustified!

I hope this will set an example for all the other judges out there who give animal abusers a slap on the wrist and send them off to repeat these horrific acts on animals!

Yeah!!! I heard on the radio today that the imates are ready for him and they are pissed. I hope he get what he deserves. Personally I don't think that three years is enough. But I sure am happy he got the max. I want to join the party

3 years will go by slowly if you have a bunch of angry felons who want to take thier own personal 'justice' out on you.

does he definitly have to serve 3 years, or is it one of those for every day served with good behavior, is one day off your sentence? so that he could get out in a year & a half?

He doesn't feel sorry, does he? Well, I hope he will have enough joyful time to reconsider!

I don't know about California laws, but in Connecticut, when someone gets a sentence of 3 years, they only end up serving a 3rd of it. If that's the case, he'll be out in a year (if my math serves me correctly). Let's hope he doesn't make it out.

I saw this news on Primetime live on Friday night. It's all I could think about all weekend.
I am so thrilled by this news. The show was saying that they do not want any tolerance to animal abuse any longer. That it is uneceptable to treat animal cruelty as a misdemeanor and that this is just the first case, not the last that they crack down on these low life pieces of crap!! Okay my own words but I think you get the jist!!

It is about time!
