Today's question is inspired by Monday's QOTD.

What is the weather like right now where you live, and what is going on with your cats' coats?

We've got some strange things going on here, even though it seems to be a usual summer temperature-wise. Our cats' coats were not very thick last winter - it was super mild didn't even have a freeze, but you'd think they would still shed for the summer. Tophel never even got his lion's mane last winter. The weirdest thing is their coats are getting thicker, now in July, and Tophel's mane is coming in like crazy! I'm really wondering how cold it's going to be here this winter!

I live in Saudi Arabia. The weather here is too hot. Today it is 42C with wide spread dust. :(
Cat is doing good though. She loves sitting in the air conditioned room or under the fan. Her coat is doing great no shedding at all.

Where my cats are
It's been hazy, hot and humid!!  Awful weather!  Even my 3 year old didn't want to stay out in it the other day.  The girls stay inside the air conditioned house.  Noodles is generally the bigger shedder; she is short haired, but they are very fine.  Mooch generally sheds less; but she is actually the one who has had some hairballs recently!  I've slacked with her brushing because it stresses her out if the kids are around.

And gosh I hope it's not going to be a yucky winter!  I don't mind the cold so much as I mind big snowstorms!

Since Bella  & Thunder are indoor cats and it is always cool inside they have no problems with their coats. Nice and shinny.

Hot right now, mid 90's and humid

Cassie's shedding a lot.. not as bad as a month ago, but pet her, you'd get a hand full of fur. Even when she jumps from one place to another, she'd leave a floating trail of fur. Still soft fur!

Monet's fur thinned out a little, but he's not shedding too much. not as much as expected. HIs fur seems more coarse than Cassie's.

I wish I could leave the AC on all day when I am not at home.. it does get very warm. It's just too expensive to do so. I leave a little fan on and close all the blinds on the windows to prevent the sun from heating the room any further

Since it has been cooler than usual here, they are not shedding any more than usual.  Sheba sheds the most, because she has such a soft thick undercoat. I can get enough out of a brushing session to knit another cat.

We have been in the 90's for the past week, it's another heatwave and it's also humid.  It really has been horrible for everyone here,  I try to stay in the a/c as much as possible.  After this week the weather should be more back to normal.

I feel like I'm living in Florida which is one place I never want to be in again. I couldn't stand living like this every day.

I don't see any change in Autumn's coat..

It's in the mid-80s here, but we don't have AC and are feeling it. Mogli has only been with us for 4 1/2 months and never had outdoor access before he came to live with us (he now has a balcony). He doesn't have an undercoat and sheds very little. We don't know what to expect when he goes out on the balcony in the winter.

It's been very hot here in northwest Indiana.  My kitties are glad they are strictly indoors :-) and love the A/C.  Bazinga and Lizzie are domestic shorthairs, and are not shedding any more than usual.  Sam, on the other hand, is a Maine Coon.  We shaved him down back in May, and his coat has grown back out at least an inch already.  So as long as we keep it cool in the house, with plenty of water, they all are doing fine.

It's in the upper 90's at the moment and we've been having hard rain and thunderstorms in the evenings here in Salt Lake City, UT. All of the cats coats long/short are the same as always lol.
