I've had my cat since she was a kitten, which is about 2 years now. We found her after she was thrown from a car in front of us (Along with her sister two day's later, who was taken to a cat sanctuary and adopted out a year later.)

She's always been lovey, wanting in our laps, sleeping with us, ect. We've kept her indoors, along with our other female cat who we adopted a year later. Since they were never allowed out we delayed getting them fixed. (I know, our first mistake.)

3-4 Weeks ago, we left on a trip with family, and at some point Yuki got out of the house while we packing the car, and was locked out. We had no idea she was missing till we returned a day later. Three, four days went by and she finally showed back up, with a few scratches on her nose. It's safe to assume she's mated.

We've been leaving food out 24/7 for her, and keeping a close eye on her, but today she's been really grumpy! She's never been an aggressive cat. In fact now that shes trying, she really sucks at, it to be honest. Just a lot of protesting to be held, meowing (Meowing, not yowling. She's not acting like shes in heat) and grumpy half hearted growls.

This isn't like my baby at all! I've been lurking around the net a bit and haven't found much on the topic. Some stuff about females being agressive to other cats, but Yuki is getting along just fine with our other female. It's just when we pick her up, or try to hold her she gets annoyed.

So has anyone else experienced this?

Cats in pain tend to lose their patience. Here my guess is she has pains, and this is why she doesnt want to be lifted up.  So I strongly recommend a vet visit, and not just phoning and hear opinion.

You probably dont need to rush to the night emergency vet, but do it ASAP at your day time vet.

This behavior here doesnt seem to have anything to do with a possible pregnancy.  They tend to get more cuddle, not less.

Re pregnancy.  IF, so she is now 3-4 weeks into it, and the classical rosy "strawberry-colored" breasts are visible now.

If she hasnt them, she is not pregnant, and you can plan on spaying with the vet, as soon her contemporary problem is cleared up.

If she has them and IS pregnant, you perhaps want to spay her anyway?? Not so nice, but medically speaking it is still no big deal for a decent vet surgeon.

Good luck!

Just an update on my cat!

Yuki is very pregnant! The vet confirmed this for us, and said that she is perfectly healthy. As far as the growling goes, we have no idea what that was about. She stopped it a few days later and has been just a regular extra lovey pregnant cat. We're expecting her litter 28th-30th.

Ah, tx for the update.  Im happy everything is well, and it was nothing especially wrong the last time.

But it is so, its better to err for the safety, than be sorry you didnt contacted your vet, although you could.

So you are preparing and reading on for full?

Good luck!

If Yuki got pregnant the day we left for our trip, it would make her 64 days pregnant today. But since she was gone for four, she could be 60 or somewhere between! This has been a hard waiting game for us the past week.

When Yuki is not eating, she is sleeping. I've been been able to actually feel the babies moving about inside her now while petting her, and last night, while observing her, we've been able to see them move!

The only thing that has kept me from staying up all night with her is that I check her nips for dry milk, to see if she is producing. I've been reading as much as I can about cat pregnancy and labor, and so long as she isn't producing milk, I know that I'm good for sleep! But any day now, she is going to have her babies. :3

We have her box all ready with towels and old flannel, in a dark part of our office room, where it's quietest in the house. Every day we let her back here for 2-3 hours to let her get used to the room/smells. Though, usually she just eats her kitten food and then lays down on Hubbies desk to sleep. What a lazy pregnant kitty we have!

Holding thumbs!  Continue to report!  *vibes!*

She will take her nest when the birth is done.   She doesnt want the nest to be smelly, no to attract predators.    :)
