Last week my cat(Kika) seems to have injured the gums(not sure if this is the right word) in her mouth. I have a vet visit scheduled in 2 weeks for a yearly check up, but now I'm wondering if I should take her to the vet ASAP. Since she was a feral she doesn't take well to being held so I haven't been able to get a good look at the injury. From what I have managed it looks kinda pinkish and different from the rest of her mouth and when I managed to touch it a bit there was no reaction from her. She has no issues with eating and I haven't seen her showing any change in behavior that would indicate that she is in pain. Should I speed up the vet visit or is it ok to leave it as is?

Thanks for the help.

Could she have pulled a tooth out?  I would see about moving the annual check-up closer so you can get it all taken care of at once.  However, if it can't be moved and she is eating ok and doesn't seem in pain otherwise I don't think it would hurt to wait until the scheduled appointment.

I would bump up the the yearly vet check as soon as you can. Since she is due for her yearly anyway, then it is a no-brainer! Best to get her mouth checked asap. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: for your kitty!

Called the vet. They said that this week was bad since they had managed to get some money to TNR some cats. The vet said that unless Kika starts to show pain or other odd behavior I should wait for at least next week or the scheduled appointment.

As for the injury: I doubt it has anything to do with teeth. Last week I was doing some maintenance on my PC and some other stuff and while I was answering the phone she snuck in my room and rubbed or bite a screwdriver or some other tool.

Thanks for the update.  Let us know what you find out when you go the vet.  It sounds like it could just be some sort of minor injury from biting the screwdriver.  I could totally see my cats doing something like that.
