Lol I was too. She had them when I least exspected it. She shoewed no signs of labor at all! Didn't even act like she was in pain. What I was exspecting was nothing like I experienced. Some adice lol cut small strips of a towel. My momma cat wouldn't assist I had to clean each kit ten and I was frantically cutting strip to swaddle them lol. She didn't even acknowledge them till she was done and cleaned herself!

Thanks for the advice. I will defiantly get that ready. I hope she has them soon. They look like they have dropped from her back and rib area to her belly so hopefully it will be soon.

Yes this will be her first litter. Your kittens are so cute!! I am glad everything went pretty well except for your first one. I hope I am here when she does decide to go into labor and not a work.

Just wanted to give a quick update on my cat sophie and her new babies. They are doing so good. She is a great mom and I have watched her bond with them. She wont let them out of her sight! Only leaves them long enough for her to eat, drink and use the bathroom. They are 2 days old now :)

How old are the kittens usually when they open their eyes?

they usually open their eyes sometime in their 2nd week  like between 7-12 days .  but can be a few days on either side.

I see it has been several hours since you posted this about your mama cat. How is she now. I would want to watch the bowel movements good. You might call your vet and see what they suggest. They might want you to bring in a sample of the poop so they can have a look. I hope she is better by now.

Urgent question...one of my 2 week old kittens looks like it body is twisted. I know this sounds weird. But all the others walk around and this one seems like it head and neck is in one direction and rest of his body in another. Any ideas??? Nursing well and is strong. Just can't figure this out.

Is there any way you can post a picture or a video? Is it always contorted like you explained or just sometimes?

Yes I will take a picture. I just noticed it today. Has been fine since birth. Wondered if maybe it had a crick in his neck. If that's possible. The other kittens can walk around. This one just flops

Do you mean this just suddenly happened?    I wonder if he somehow got injured and twisted his neck.   maybe when the mother cat was moving him?   Or possibly a kid accidentally picked him up too roughly and didn't notice what happened or was scared to tell?   It sounds like you will need to take him to a vet.

Yes it has just been a sudden thing. The momma cat has been moving them around like crazy. On top of beds, in closets..so I confined her to a bedroom a few days ago. Its the oddest thing..but yes I thinking he should see a vet. Will call tomorrow.
