Hey, I am new here but need some advice. I cant find where to start my own forum so if someone else can feel free to move my post. I adopted a female cat from a kill shelter who was already pregnant. The organization has already set up a spay date. No one knows how pregnant she is but ive had her almost 4 weeks. She is huge! Can see the babies moving and feel one in between her legs. She has been having a creame color discharge for two days. A lot! But shows no sign of labor. Has veen nesting and milk is in....does anyone know what shes waiting on? Is it possible shes not happy here and holding them in?

Hi Ashley!  Tx for adopting this girl.  It sounds the delivery will be soon. Although we dont know exactly what time.

Cats can in some degree controll when to deliver, but unless she is VERRY unhappy with you and your place, she is not sabotageing you!   :)

Besides, better a couple of days later than earlier. Kittens dont manage well being born premature.

I suppose you have prepared a couple of nesting places? (I see she is nesting). She is in a undisturbed room, not stressed?

Ates, drinks, uses litter?

I presume you had tried to read on, here at our Forum, and other places?

Have a scale measuring in grammes ready?

This  discharges are common.  Its fluid, not pus? No bad smells?

They will come when they come, probably soon, at most two days,

Good luck!

    Welcome to our Forums!

ps.  I asked a mod to make this your post into your own thread.

Yes I have bought her a cage with a pan so I can easily clean it after birth. And have it covered with a blanket to keep it dark. She seems to really like me. She stays with me constantly. I have read hours and hours on here before I decided to post lol she isnt cleaning the discharge I have to. So im afraid she will need assistance during birth.it doesn't smell..its almost snot colored but not green. More of a egg shell color. Thank you for replying. Im driving myself crazy waiting on this little momma and hardly getting sleep lol

this was ger last night loving attention. But only on her head. Wont let u touch her belly. Meet miss sohpie

No smell in the discharge. .its like snot but cream colored. No green. Ive read hours and hours on here for days before I decided to post. I do have a nesting spot ready and lastnight she slept outside the crate all night. No discharge to and shes just slept all day. The kittens were very active but today I can only feel tiny movements???

Shortly before the delivery they wander down into positions, and usually they are not so movable there,  the last day.  And also, you must feel after them down there.   :)

Holding thumbs!

Do you know what her normal temp there is?

Without more exact knowledge I would guess it has fallen some, as they have typically about 102.

But it is partly individual, so you must really have something to compare with.

Good luck!

So my cat has a fever tonight...I dont know what's going on. I usually take her temp rectally but didn't want to stress her. She feels very hot and her temp under her arm was 101.7

Well I think she is done...shew! That was awful!! She had 6 total. One passed :( 3 grey and 3 black. She will never have babies again! Will fix her asap!! She had no idea what to do. I had to take them all out of their sacs, clear their noses and cut three cords.but mom amd babies are doing well now. Mom has cleaned herself, ate, drank and has used the bathroom. Babies are eating away :)

Well done!  Them coming in such a quick stream gave her no chance to adjust, so it was really luckily you were there, prepared to help.   :)

What are their weights?   Please continue to weigh them every day, preferably in grammes.

Good luck!
