Please excuse the excessive typos...gotta go to work and no time to fix, I thought I did b4 posting but it didn't "take" I guess.
Hi! I'm Eileen, single mom of awesome college student. When she quit figureskating I had to focus my obsessive nature on something else. I decided it was time for me to come out of my shell and do something to make the world a better place. I sort of accidentally fell into rescue while I was doing homeless and elderly outreach. Then it became official a few lyears later as my adoption placements were ending up badly I chose to affiliate with a 501c3 so I could have better placements and help with vetting. Soooo, now I'm in cat and dog rescue (sorry but I did put a pic or two of dogs bc I couldn't' resist!) and have about 15 kitties right now and one great nanny dog. I work with Wags and Whiskers in St. Augustine Fl and Saffari in Palm Coast, as well as pulling from different shelters when I can. Let's not forget the accidental rescues and people dumping them on my doorstep. Hundreds of cats and maybe 20 dogs have blessed my home on their way to new furever homes. I am trying to back out a little now, bc I've paid my dues and can't afford what I have here already.Rescue is like the Mafia, once you're in you can never get out!! (well, it's very hard to say the elast) I deactivated my facebook pages and personal profile bc I couldn't handle not being able to help the hundreds of hurting and neglected animals in kill shelters. Makes me want to die. I start off introducing you to Ophelia bc she is my rescue assistant :) Kitties+Border Collie=a happy hpme. Ophelia was a snatch and run rescue. I would have gone to jail to rescue her. She was only 7 months old and it took a loooong time to rehab her from the abuse she suffered but she is a great assistant to me in the cat rescue! I have pix uploaded of her doing her "nanny" job :) I have 3 senior cats aged over 18 and the rest range from 3-4 months to 12 y.o.. Most are 6 to 7yo. Ophelia, the dog is 12 (I do dog rescue too but right now no dogs except my own) I love my furkids so here's their bios (mine is on my profile :) in the order in which I received them:) :ALL my animals are neutered
Jingles 12 yo. indoor/outdoor gray tabby aka pimp-daddy and his girlfriend 7 yo Si-Si a Siamese feral. I had Jingles by himself for 2 years b4 I began to  REALLY do rescue.
Pete (adoptable) a 7 yo indoor/outdoor blonde, dumped in parking lot at a condo I work at (I try REALLY hard, prob harder than anyone I know to find owners of "stray" cats.)
I also try to not allow cats to be outside but sometimes there ARE exceptions to the rule, choosing quality of life rather than them being miserable.
Hence my 19 yo Miss Muffet is outside most of the time. She insists on it in spoite of my reservations I let her out bc wth she's an old lady and might as well be happy. My neighbor keeps a close eye on her as well, in fact he adores all of my outdoor kitties and puts water and food and shelter outside even though I have all that here...they are getting to be big fat *******s LOL Muffet came to me in a group of 3 cats a few years ago from a man who died and had no family. The other 2 younger cats were placed but I still have her and since she's so old she is not up for adoption anymore.
Tiny 7 black and white tux, little spoiled brat a bottlebaby that got returned from first placement and I decided to keep her if others couldn't appreciate her personality.<3 Her foster sibling was Catarina (read about her on my profile pic) and they were inseparable once Tiny won her over. When Catarina died Tiny was inconsolable and never made another cat friend again. So sad. idk what to do for her. She's remained this way for 6 years, highstrung, grumpy, easily over-stimulated and bites. I hold her and pet her when she wants and put her down when she bites me. I've tried various tactics but nothing has really worked and I think it's the constant stream of rescue cats.
Lexi 6 black, a tyrant and bad-tempered back talking sassy monster. bugs me to death at night cuddling and trying to nurse LOL steals others treats and tries to snatch bowls away from others at feed time. Idf I scold her she hisses at me and we hiss back and forth a little until she sits down and quits beating everyone up to steal their food LOL
Mama-kitty 7 a dilute calico, nursed her back to health from a stroke, fell in love...took her off adoptable list. She is a great foster mom for kittens, teaches them their manners and nurtures them. Stands on her hind legs when I tell her UP. great party trick! Especially bc she could barely walk and kept falling over for first 2 months.
Callie   18 long hair calico previous mom had cancer and died. a real Diva. off adoptable list now bc of age. She was 21 pounds I got her down to 12 over a period of 2 years. She has terrible arthritis but the new supplement seems to be working great.
Sasha male age 4? black white tux, highstrung clown who likes to suck his thumb at night LOL Was abused. took a long time for him to trusty me. (NOT feral) He's adoptable but "shows" terrible at events so I can't take him anymore, prob have for life.
Panachee a big teddy bear gray/white tabby 5 yo, molests the kittens sometimes, other times acts like their daddy...kittens tend to love him until he molests them. We have to supervise. But I love him and he's only super-adoptable foster kitten I ever purposely kept. I'm slowly training him that kittens and other cats are not to be dominated and humped. slow progress LOL. vet check said no testicular tissue left over so it's just the way he is.
Patches 16 yo dark calico declawed, rescued found outside covered in fleas and near death (eyes glazed over and bony head, every vertebrae showing and skin like silly putty. previous owner loved her and took exceptional care of her but when she died the cat ended up in a BAD rescue place. She developed kidney problems bc of being allowed to deteriorate like that. I slept with her the first night holding her close to me fleas all over (too sick to risk a bath so flea combed all night) no money for vet was sure I'd wake up next to a dead cat. My love saved her though and she is doing much better now even with kidney dysfunction. When I am stressed out I go find her and she comforts me. If she ehars me crying (I have trigeminal neuralgia) she comes and curls up nest to me. she likes to tap me with her paw to remind me it's dinner time. I hate that she's completely declaewed. You can tell her feet hurt and hips too. Sometimes she shakes her paws like they are stinging and then tucks them under herself. One day I kissed each paw and told her I'm sorry her first Mom didnt' know it would hurt so much. Then I put her down and promptly tripped and stomped on one of her paws. Sigh. I will be going to hell I'm sure. Can you imagine how bad I felt LOL
Most recently I pulled 3 cats from a shelter that 3 days later staff euthed all their cats (sick OR healthy...ALL of them ) bc of distemper outbreak. My 3 didn't have it thank god. Another rescue that pulled a day after me lost all their "pulls" and a couple personal (vaccinated)cats as well to this very severe strain of distemper. 2 of mine were adopted but one did not bc she bites and attacks HARD when scared or in pain.
The adopted ones were "unadoptable" problem kitties too but I am a cat-whisperer and got them straightened out and ended up adopted at second adoption event they attended and new families adore them..they are extra special personalities now. I harness/leash trained the black kitten, Raven, so she would have an "edge" at events bc we had nothing but black cats and kittens. It worked :) the other was just a lil shy, Cosette, but sweet and loving and so soft and very beautiful gray hue and white tux. I like to take deathrow kitties and fix em up and send em out <3
However, Hillary: Grey/white tux She has one eye and half a tail that is forked at the end and half an ear bc I thought she was feral at first LOL She tore me up bad when I attempted to transfer to a bigger cage after a week of being in iso bc of shelter outbreak. It turned out she had severe pyometra (infected uterus) which was discovered when spayed. First vet demanded she be taken to rabies quarantine hold but I was POSITIVE the cat was suffering and that the attack WAS provoked...she was eating and drinking but holding herself in a PAIN type position. I did not do it and fought hard to keep her from being thrown into a rabies hold for 10 days while so sick and pain! First vet and I do not work together anymore. She wouldn't even give her pain med. AC agreed it was not rabies case so my previous rescue vet treated her for pain and cystitis but turned out to be the pyometra.
And 3 foster kittens. Kendra, Kayden and Krista for a rescue I work with that I'm working on to make adoptable. I always get the cats and dogs with behavior problems bc I'm good at it and 99% of them get adopted.

I don't mean to come off like I'm bragging but I am so happy I have helped so many animals stay alive and find good homes. Of course I'm leaving the dogs out which have been just as rewarding.
