my kitty who is now 1 year old has stopped eating all of his food. He used to eat it all and I feed him 1/4 cup twice a day and he has been drinking more water then eating. I fill up his water bowl at least 2 times a day. He is 11.5 pounds but not overweight.

When you say all do you mean he won't eat at all or he only eats some of it?

Are you feeding canned or dry?

Is he exhibiting any behavior that is out of the ordinary? Lethargy? Grooming? Burping?

How long has this gone on?

What kind of variety of foods do you give him?

If he has stopped eating as much and has started drinking a lot more water, I would say a visit to the vet is needed. There are numerous things that could cause this.

I second this.  Cats drinking more water is indicative that something is not right, particularly the increased amount you have indicated.

Please take your kitty to the vet! This is definitely something that needs to be looked at.

My first thought is urinary/kidney problems. Has he been urinating more or less than normal?

Please get a vet visit ASAP.

Also, aggressiveness can be a sign that the cat is in pain.  As other posters have advised: vet now please.
