I just finished reading an article on www.catinfo.org about urinary infection diets. My Dolly has recently developed an infection and haven't taken her to the vet yet, but would rather try something healthy before taking her to the vet.

She has started peeing on the sofa in recent days when she always used the litter box no matter what I put in there. She seems to drink more water than Wren. I feed the cats 1/2 can of wet food mixed with the dry food twice a week. They eat out of the same bowl.

My mom said my brother's cat developed the same issue and the vet found she had urinary track infection with granulas in her urine

Should I start feeding Dolly basically canned food? How often should I feed Dolly canned food mixed with dry food? Should I mix any type of meat juice or broth with her foods?

A UTI is a serious condition in cats. Please, take your cat to the vet. If she is avoiding the litter box, she is probably in pain from the UTI. You don't want her to stop using the box completely. She may start pooping on the couch or floor, too.

Yes you need to take your kitty to the vet right away. But to answer your question about diet, absolutely get her on an all canned diet. You can't go wrong with Dr Pierson's site (www.catinfo.org)
