Jack is my "carb-oholic"; he'll eat just about anything in the pastry family.  He loves the edges of a Poptart, cake, cookies, pie crust, cake donuts, chips, corn curls, etc.

Hannah goes crazy over hot dogs; when we found her she was 8 years old (according to the vet) and that was about all she would eat.  We always assumed her former people ate a lot of hot dogs.  Four years later, she still begs for some but doesn't eat an entire dog at one time like she used to.  She's also nuts for popcorn and chips.

Charlotte goes absolutely stupid if you get a cereal bowl out of the cabinet; she assumes you're actually having cereal and she'll get leftover milk.  She will sit close to you while you eat whatever might be in the bowl and, if there wasn't milk in it, she actually seems to pout.

Our RB kitty Clancey loved cantaloupe; he could smell it when you brought it into the house.

DH says the cats will eat just about anything that I eat.
Brought back a happy memory of my former cat Pal. How could I forget why I stopped eating cereals. Right from when I got her as a kitten she'd sit right beside me and mooch whenever I had cereal (esp corn flakes),  then she upped the pest factor by pawing at the bowl, THEN she managed to get her paw to the spoon before it reached my mouth
It was cute but it got too stressful getting the flakes past her demon  paws
She was generally well behaved and never did it with anything else .

Spice has decided that she likes lemon creme cookies. You know, like the Oreo type. She eats both the cookie and the stuff in the middle.

Stark devoured a mini sweet bread bun with a curry vegetable patty in it. I was worried about his tiny little tummy not digesting that properly but he is fine!

Atari and Fawkes both eat mashed potatoes but refuse every other kind of potato. Atari will also eat cheese or gravy if she can sneak it.

Jamie used to love mashed potatoes, mashed baked pumpkin and, strangely enough, mashed parsnips. He wouldn't even look at them if they weren't mashed, but would refuse any paté cat food.

That is more that funny to me. Why are cat's so picky? It's pretty hilarious. xD

Not long after we brought Ana home, we realized she was very interested in whatever I was eating. Even more than the dog, she seemed captivated by the sight of me eating. Especially if I was eating a banana. We wanted to see what she'd do if she could actually sniff it so one day we offered her one, and she took the peel out of my hand and began to chow down on it!

That became her "thing". She wouldn't eat the peels, she just liked to chew on them and lick the inside surfaces. I couldn't eat a banana without her begging like a dog... VERY loud purring, sitting up on her hind legs, staring with these huge eyes. If she saw me at the other end of the house she'd come running, "babbling" in excitement (I don't know what you call it when a cat talks like that... it wasn't what cats normally sound like when they "chatter"). She didn't even need to see me with the banana, she would hear me peel it, and/or smell it.

She didn't stop at bananas. We ended up having to lock our garbage in the laundry room because she'd go "dumpster diving" for green beans, carrot peels, etc... she'd turn her nose up at tuna or chicken but if there were veggies in there she wanted them. Eventually she decided she also liked citrus--only cat I've ever heard of who did. She started with pummellos--she'd steal the rinds out of my lap when I tried to peel them, and run off growling--and then graduated all the way to wanting oranges too. She kind of flipflopped when it came to oranges, and preferred the edible part of the fruit over the peel... she acted like the peels were a little too strong for her tastes, but she'd still steal them and hover over them protectively in the corner by the heater vent.

I'm glad she didn't get into houseplants or anything naughty like that, because I don't think citrus would have been a very effective deterrent. :p

Matt sits and waits for the bowl when I have Yoghurt and Muslix. He steals That spreadable cheese with the cow on it, and DO NOT put down cheesecake....he'll steal it
 lol

When we got him he used to steal the bread....we had to put the bread box up on top of a bookshelf, but not until he'd shredded 3 loaves-bad kitty. But, he'd been a stray, so he was bound to come with some bad habits.

Sassy liked Curry flavored Lays chips, salted crackers and pizza

Yip, Mouse is really good at not wanting my/human food but oh boy, plants and flowers are a no-no. Strangely he hasn't gone for fruit and veg' but I can't have any other plant form in my home without him instantly chomping in.  I gave up when he was about 9 months old: he managed to pull an orchid plant down off the highest and hardest to reach shelf in the house and ran off with a leaf like it was a prize mouse. Then he kept trying to break in to the bathroom where I'd stashed some Gladioli a friend had given me.  At the time I hadn't seen this site and no other site or book I'd seen listed Gladioli as poisonous to cats. After he'd been DRAGGED off a stem  before I'd even got them out of their wrapper - minutes later he was sitting on the floor with a glazed look in his eyes and leaning at a 45  degree angle.  I kind of figured they had to be kept out of bounds and attempting to keep him out of the bathroom was the only way I could think of! (Wasn't easy)  Sometimes I get kitty-grass but he's so enthusiastic he instantly destroys it pulling clumps out at the roots and leaves the seed ends all over the floor.

When I went to the bathroom this morning I forgot my BLT was laying on the couch and I came down with Bella eating only the bacon. She ate all of it.

Haha this is so funny to read!

I guess it's weird to me because neither of my cats are very interested in "human food." Diego is a chow hound and goes to town on his food but he never really seems interested in mine. Ella on the other hand is the pickiest eater ever. I have a hard enough time trying to get her to eat her own food, which is why I laugh hysterically every time she goes for the one human food that she does like: tortilla chips! Anytime I have them she somehow knows (even though I don't think they have that strong of a smell) and she will come sneak them one at a time. She usually doesn't eat them- just likes to lick off the salt and then leaves a soggy mess behind for me to step on. But, she doesn't do it with any other salty food (crackers, potato chips, ect). Just tortilla chips.

What a whack job!

Mine all go for the weird Japanese snack food Mr Husband eats. Strips of dried squid, cheese tara (Which is two paper thin strips of fish with a strip of cheese sandwiched in the middle) and fried tofu. They occasionally get a piece of raw mackerel or sword fish if he has sushi.

Their absolute favourite thing is the dried squid though.

Can I add Maggie in here, too? Maggie, our grand-dog, has developed a taste for frozen green beans. The long beans....they can't be snapped and they can't be thawed or at room temperature. They must be frozen. So when she came last Wednesday night, I made sure we had long green beans in the freezer for her. She'll eat about 10-12 at a time.

When she was at the vet for her last check-up, DS asked about her thing with green beans. The vet said it was fine, that it was better for her than canned or bagged treats and wouldn't interfere with her diet food or anything.

I gave her some frozen green beans this morning before I left for work.
That reminds me that Gabriel & Samurai like veggies, too - especially green beans, peas, & corn.
I think it's the butter that they actually like that I use when I make veggies.

Last night I found out that Geronimo likes peanut butter when I was making a peanut butter sandwich.

Pierre was a  tuxedo cat who lived to be 20 years old and he at first had not interest in human food until one time my husband left a chocolate pudding container on the living room table to pick up the phone and turned around and found him up on his hind legs licking out of the cup.  He loved popcorn, and the cheese off of cheese curls and Doritos.  Cried when my husband made grits and continued to do so until he received the bowl to lick.  Mayo and butter.  We give him shrimp and he would just play with it.  Go figure

We had a fish tank at one time and had to hide the fish food from Cinnamon - long haired domestic, or she would chew through the box to eat the it. (couldn't leave Max cat food out for her to access because she would chew through those bags to get through it.  She also like to eat the ribbon you used for wrapping gifts and tape.  She was definitely a strange one.

Now I have Oliver and Milo.  They both love KFC original chicken breast (no skin or breading).  Oliver likes cooked tomatoes.  They both like Mayo  Oliver my big guy will always lick a dessert container if there are any remains. He also loves to lick plastic bags.  Neither likes ice cream, think they don't like the cold.  Milo is a yogurt lover, no matter what the flavor. He using he paw sometimes to dip in the container to taste it first.

I myself love mild salsa(more so during my pregnancy) and I placed my salsa bowl down on the couch&went to wash my hands&grab the tortilla chips&when I came back my 6week old kitten was eating my salsa! I freaked out&tried rinsing her mouth out. I monitored her& she seems fine. I feed her canned food with water about 40mins ago&she ate it all&still seems fine. Now I just laugh about it,lol

Charlie loved spinach (the persian). Scouter loved ziti and ate it up to the day she passed. Osha loves indian food and Mr. Bobbins like bananas. What is wrong with these cats? Looks like many of you have the same weirdness. haha
