Hi there! I have been reading and reading everything I can about pregnant kitties.  I am so nervous and I know it is getting really close.  My kitty is about 14 months old and slipped out during a week when we had house guests.  She was gone for a few days and I was terrified!!  But, she came back and low and behold a little more than 5 weeks ago her belly was rounder and no question. She is going to be a mommy.  We have been able to feel the babies moving for about 2 weeks and see it clearly for the last week.  She is so mellow today.  She has not eaten or even cried for food all day.  Last night she got in her box for about 30 minutes (this is the longest she has been in it.)  So, I guess I know it is close, Just wanted to get a little reassurance.  I am almost sick with nerves!

I thought the babies were supposed going to be here last week and have been sleeping on the sofa so I can hear her if she needs me for the last 8 days!

I should add that I have another female cat in the house and she is fixed but had never tried to get outside. I didn't rush to get cricket fixed since she also had never seemed to have an interest in leaving the house.  I will absolutely get her fixed asap and make sure all of the kittens are fixed prior to new homes.

I'm in the same boat as you lol only we have a pregnant stray. I keep thinking just a few more days and then again just a few more days lol. She is huge now and I've been feeling the kittens about the length of time you have. It can be nerve racking waiting and hoping it all goes smoothly.

Update us on how it's going and if she has her little ones! I wish you the best of luck and I'm sorry I couldn't reassure you, it makes me feel a bit better knowing I'm not the only one waiting lol. :)

It is reassuring to know I am not the only one that freaks out with the waiting.  I think my husband will be happy when they come so I will sleep in our room again! LOL

The stray we are caring for is in the basement and it has a concrete floor so it's a bit cold at ground level. We have her in two huge dog kennels attached, she roams free a couple hours a day. The reason is that we have other pets and she can't be vaccinated for anything until after she has her babies so she's kind of in quarantine until then. I'm off track now lol, anyway I will have a heating pad set up under her nesting box just to add some warmth but I need to wait until she has the kittens so I can plug it in and turn it on. I could do it now but I'd be to afraid of it being in there during the births so I check on her all day and night because I'm afraid it will be to cold without the heating pad lol.

I read that they usually show signs of birth but my parent's cat that they brought in as a stray was acting normal and then there on the floor in the spare bedroom she popped out the first kitten with no warning lol.

She looks so thin from the side tonight.  She seems to have slimmed down suddenly tonight.  But when she lays down you can see how big she is.

I really thought this morning was going to be the time.  She was crying and wandering thru the house very determined. Trying to clean her belly and can't seem to reach her down there parts to clean them.  She tried and just falls over like a weeble.  She just kept whining and rubbing all over the dog and snuggling with her.  But, alas, she is now sleeping peacefully again.  My gosh, This is going to make me crazy!

Hopefully tomorrow for you!!!! I think it will only be a day or two on my end. The kittens are so pronounced now and moving a lot, plus mama kitty seems agitated today. Good luck!!!!!

BTW you have a very cute little cat, her kittens will be adorable!

Thanks. Cricket has been really jumpy. But then she gets really still again.   I fear she is just going to hold onto them forever. HAHA Seems likes this is the longest wait...  I don't remember being this nervous about having my own kids 20 years ago!

Well still no babies. I am starting to worry.  Since I don't know the exact day she got pregnant, all I can go on is seeing the babies move and how she is acting.  I wonder how long should I wait before I take her to the vet?

I'd give them a call if you're worried just to be safe. Hopefully tomorrow will be her day so you can stop worrying lol. I'm still tense waiting as well, she's been slowing down on the food and activity but still nothing!

It seems like the kittens have been growing so much these last few days. The mama kitty is lumpy sometimes when her kittens are positioned funny. They sure like to move!

I hope everything works out for you guys! Keep us posted!

Cricket's babies have slowed way down in their movements and the movements seem to be confined now to her lower belly. She now has a "pouch" below her tummy like her milk might be trying to come in. Almost no food today, even though it has been available.  She took over the dog's bed and Rosie (our dog) is allowing her to sleep there and sleeping next to her keeping a close eye!  Hoping for tomorrow cuz I would like to sleep tonight!

She is still prego...  I am starting to give up hope.  My husband says stop watching her every move and she will have them when you give her some space. So I am have but been ignoring her all day. How about your kitty?

My gosh! Still no babies...  Going to call the vet today and just get a quick check for Cricket.  I am sure she is fine but it will make me feel a little better. She has been in and out of her box quite a bit and goes through whining episodes.  But, haven't had much of the clinginess others describe.  Although she does follow me room to room which she has never done before... Goodness! I understand now why so many people have posted with worries and concerns about the time line and the just not knowing freaking them out!

Hope all goes well at her vet checkup, it seems so close now!

Hina has been laying next to her litter box all morning which she has never done plus it looks like she might be having contractions. I have to go check on her ever hour just to make sure she doesn't have any kittens in her litter box. It might still be a a day or so off seeing as I have nothing to compare her to lol.

Very best of luck to you guys!

Well, vet said that it would be another week possibly but not likely.  that without an ultrasound, there is no way to really know for sure.  That she is calm and healthy and everything will take its course.  ARGH!  Her belly is so big and tight you can barely feel the kittens move.  Congrats on labor!  Please keep me posted!

Oh my up to another whole week possibly! That seems like forever, it's good that everything is okay though!

As far as our little mama cat, she wasn't having contractions lol my sister told me she was and I got excited but I think the kittens are just ribbing the poor girl. She is acting strange though so hopefully soon. I've been down there to check on her ever few hours. I also noticed her milk is coming in.

Watch your girl have them tomorrow now that the vet said it could be a week lol!
