I-know-with-cat-food,and-horse-feed,they-are-not-all-made-equal,you-have-to-read-the-ingredients,and-know-what-your-looking-for.Cat-products-and-horse-products,I-know-what-to-look-for,LOL,but......I-know-nothing,about-human-vitamins.

So-many-brands,of-each-one,and-all-different-prices,and-I-know-the-most-expensive-one,is-not-necessarily-the-best-one-either.

So-what-are-you-looking-for,as-far-as-ingredients,or-brands,to-know-which-is-the-best-quality-one?

Right-now,I-am-looking-at-fish-oil-and-B-complex-vitamins,but-would-l-like-to-know-about-other-vitamin-supplements-too.

Appreciate-your-help!

p.s.-I-don't-want-to-order-online,I-want-to-just-go-the-store-and-get-it,LOL.

For fish oil.. they the most red one you can find.. if the fish oil is yellow, it's weak. The more red, the more potent it is.

the other.. no idea. lol

Fish oil is tough to keep from going rancid. It oxidizes very quickly. You definitely want a high quality oil. The Alaska Natural in capsules is one that LDG researched as being good and a lot of members here take it themselves and give to their kitties as well. If you're looking at fish oil more for anti-inflammatory properties as opposed to just Omega 3s, then krill oil or green-lipped mussel oil may be a better choice.

For all vitamins, I tend to look for pure ingredients, less fillers. Sometimes where it's manufactured/sourced matters.

My doctor told me to keep our fish oil capsules in the freezer at all times. I take two a day and I just grab a capsule from the freezer.

YIKES... I did not know that. I take Mega Red Krill Oil and the Kirkland brand Fish Oil. Larry too. Gosh, will put them in the fridge. Never thought about that. Shouldn't it say on the bottles???

I take many vitamins lately - a whole herd of them. I look for vitamins with the GMP stamp (Good Manufacturing Practices). I take all of the basics like Vitamin C, D, E, B complex, Calcuim and a multi. Also add in the Fish oils, Co-Q10, Thiamine (B-1), Folic Acid (have to watch the dosage on this one). Sometimes Larry thinks I am over-dosing which is not good either. But I am feeling better overall.

I take this B-Complex

One thing to keep in mind is that the FDA regulations for vitamins and supplements is very different then the FDA regulations for food and other drugs.  The only role that the FDA has with vitamins and supplements is to make sure that they are safe for consumption. They do not monitor if the vitamin or supplement does what it claims to do, or even what is in the vitamin supplement for that matter.
