I'm the matron of honor for my best friend's wedding, to be held next May.
I thought we had decided that the wedding colors would be a deep, garnet red, as would the wedding party's dresses. In fact, I suggested to her a lovely Evan Picone dress in the red; I actually own that dress in black.
Keep in mind that she asked me to be her matron of honor, and asked me to help her plan her wedding. Ok...
I've been suggesting that we get together for an afternoon, and scope out some sites online, as her 5 other bridesmaids are scattered all around; some 500 miles or more away. Getting everyone together for a bridal salon visit would be hard, and expensive; 3 of the maids are her daughters, who would find the expense of both traveling and the dress difficult. We also have women of many ages and body types to please, so I thought we'd find a site that offered the same fabric in 2 different colors and styles, keeping things coordinated, such as the formality and length, and they could tell us what they'd prefer, and could order it themselves.
Well, today, she said she had chosen the dresses (and without even asking them). From a bridal salon...and changed the color to "sangria", a purple. She wants me to wear something different, my choice, which is good--I had told her that I can't have anything that zips; I have a very-hard to fit ribcage, which has nothing to do with being fat or thin--it can't be changed. I never wear anything fitted that I can't custom-tailor to my torso, unless it's reenacting clothing! These gowns have zippers, BTW, so David's Bridal is out for me.
I have to find another dress in another color, but have no idea what would coordinate with the "sangria" color.
Here's the color of the David's gown:
(Sorry, can't get the sangria ones to copy. It keeps doing a red gown. Please type in David's bridal sangria.)
This is the Evan Picone I thought we'd wear:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NWoT-Evan-P...2301?pt=US_CSA_WC_Dresses&hash=item2a2ed0309d (this dress is a bit darker in real life; I've seen one. The pic looks more flame red.)
(I own the above, but in black--and it's gorgeous, flattering dress.)
What colors would go with the David's "sangria" color??? Thanks!
