A little over five years ago a very small black and white cat ran out of the woods around my house and started rubbing up against me. She was very friendly and once I gave her a little food, she wouldn't leave. She stayed on my deck the rest of the day, napping and looking through the door. She would get very excited when she saw one of us. The poor little girl was fairly sick and I started calling around to shelters, but they were all full and no one wanted to take in a sick cat. I brought her into my garage and made an appointment at an low cost clinic to have her looked over.
My father had gone into a nursing home just a few weeks before and my mother was extremely lonely. She came over to meet Roxie and after I got Roxie healthy, she moved in with my mother and became her constant companion. Roxie was one of the sweetest, most loving cats I have ever met. She wanted to be friends with and cuddle up with everyone.
About a year and a half ago Roxie went into congestive heart failure and was diagnosed with HCM. She has had her ups and downs since then, but was a little fighter. Yesterday she lost the fight.
Thank you Roxie, for being such a loving companion the past five years. :heart2: You have left such an enormous hole in your human's heart and will be sorely missed.
