I have been feeding my three cats Wellness Chicken Flavor (complete health). The can clearly says that this food is Grain Free. I am confused as to the difference then between Core and what I am feeding my cats -- is there a difference in terms of what is best for them?

They will only eat This one brand and flavor. When Wellness had a recall about a year ago we went through dozens of brands of premium canned chicken flavor cat food and one of my cats simply refused to eat - it was awful and thankfully I was able to find cans of the product that were not on the recall list.

I am just wondering if i should try to move them to the Core chicken and turkey or I should leave well enough alone. They very very rarely get four or five pieces of EVO dry food which has now been recalled and the bag I have is very very old since I give them treats of EVO so rarely.

Thanks for your help.

Hmm, very interesting question. I feed both to my cats and I've honestly never thought to check the difference.  Here's what Wellness's website had to say:
The CORE and Simple Cans are both complete & balance diets, however the CORE is grain-free, and the Simple is limited ingredients.
Which makes NO sense, because the "Simple" cans say right on the label, "Grain Free."

I'm beginning to think I've been bamboozled into paying 30 cents extra per can by a shiny metallic label!

Regarding rotation, it's important to rotate foods for that very reason: recalls, brands going under, one-off batches that don't taste right to the kitties, reformulation of recipes, etc.

Could you try other flavors than chicken? Fish isn't ideal as a regular meal but maybe a few times a week?  I'd definitely try adding a turkey, beef, or lamb in there too.  That would help you get different brands and varieties into their diet besides chicken-based foods.

I like Wellness Core better. It has less starch/carbohydrates- like potatoes- if memory serves me.

Wellness Core is their deluxe line. It has less carbs. You can have grain-free food, but still have carbs. The carbs come as potatoes or vegetables.
