Back in December, i moved my horses to a new barn, and due to ignorance of the people there, in that barn were some 6 week old kittens. We rescued one. Her name is Kitty Kitty Mow Mow. She is extremely pregnant. We noticed this about 3 weeks ago when she bloated up slightly. She's always been a slender and sleek cat, made for hunting and getting in cracks and crevices to catch mice. Needless to say, she is small, only about 8-9 pounds  on average. now she weighs 15-ish and her nipples are pink and giving milk, but they're dry and only slightly swollen.

I don't know if she's going into labor or not because she's always been quite the affectionate cat, seeing as since she was a baby she'd only ever come in contact with people and our imperial Shih-Tzu. She's always purred if you even brushed a finger against her on accident. She's always loved belly rubs. But she is active. The past couple days though, she's been lounging about. Today she got really lazy and layed out in our tv room, only leaving to eat occasionally, where as before she was always eating. She has also spent the day licking her abdomen and legs, but not her vagina. My younger sister also said she woke up crying this morning and she meowed at me when the food dish was empty, which she never does. And she hasn't used the restroom since this morning. I can also feel the sacks about an inch from her vagina, but she has given no discharge. Her breath is also quicker and her body temperature has dropped slightly.

Is she going into labor? Or can I get some rest and stop worrying?

She is inside at your home now?  Good.

It is the "guessing and waiting game", but I suspect it is near now. 24 hours at most.  You are several people there?  You can perhaps have someone on watch, if you want to be around when she delivers.

It is advisable you are arond when she delivers, first, it is a interesting experience, second - sometimes, not so seldom, you must help her.

You dont write what you did prepared, what you did to read on...  You have a little time left to read on here on our Forum, articles above and at the side of the forum, threads, perhaps even some youtube-film...

Please come with reports and further questions!

Good luck!

Welcome to our Forums!

ps.  And please, consider to get her spayed when she is done.  No point with more litters, unless they are planned.

Oh trust me, we are getting her fixed, haha. Though this pregnancy was unplanned, we did want one litter before spaying her. Also, we have in fact set up a large nesting box that is padded and laid on it's side. I wanted to keep a close eye on her because she is only nine months old and the first time she got pregnant(the one before this one) she did have a miscarriage. Thank you very much:) I appreaciate it. P.S. My family is here, but asleep, haha.

Okay, so the kittens have moved farther down and her back has had a few twitches and she is grooming profusely, even licking her vagina once. He body temperature has dropped more and she is purring for no reason. Her breathing is coming quicker as well. Also, she became even more alert, not closing her eyes since she got up to get a small bite to eat before roaming a bit and then coming back to the tv room. I woke my mom up and she said MowMow was fine and not going into labor, but i disagree. Do you think she is possibly going into labor based on my observations?

Its coming nearer and nearer, prob hours now, not more. I agree with you. But when it will be exactly, the opening and delivering, not easy.  Try and be there. You can sit on a chair in her room and half sleep if you dont manage to be awake.

Good luck!
